I reckon the much vaunted, now crap of.... "Those are in our thoughts & Prayers" stuff is wearing a bit thin & sounding shallow & mass produced rubbish.

It's not a question of "fancy words", the point is that if I was in an official position I wouldn't be offering snarky opinions on the situation in another country.

Particularly given that his comments about how much better off NZ handled quarantine appears to ignore their multiple breaches:

    - two sisters who went to a funeral and didn't come back
    - bloke who went out for a smoke and visited the supermarket on the way back
    - another family who absconded to go to a funeral

He also seems to be ignoring the fact that it was because of breaches like the above that they brought in the military and their health minister had to resign. It wasn't like they got it right from the beginning.

    random news:

    yesterday
As many as 50 truck drivers turned back at Victorian border after they failed to get COVID-19 tests

    today
Victorian truck drivers want to be allowed in to SA without proof of a COVID-19 test, saying inconsistencies in laws and SA’s tough border rules risk shutting down freight.

Right ... I'd hate to see what him being critical would look like.

It's interesting - I've had a tangential involvement in diplomatic circles and that's the sort of criticism of other countries that people do try to avoid, so it's odd to hear it coming from a deputy PM [Edit: who's also the NZ Foreign Minister]. It's also more than a little gloating, which is .... odd .... given that the reason for the interview is that his purportedly superior arrangements have apparently also failed.
If that is the transcript of his comments, in fairness to him, he did say "...without being too critical", if that helps... Probably not

depending of how covid pans out over the next few months, just the Queensland kids going to surfer would be a god cash injection for the business’s.

We will be on fraser this year celebrating schoolies with family and friends.

If there ever was another "Pandemic" waiting to happen it would have to be "Schoolie's Week." End of term, booze, sex, has all the makings of another possible disaster.

Let's hope their Monetary Brain doesn't get in the way of Govt.common sense & self-control. Kids just don't come from Queensland but afterwards will spread out across Australia.

AND, as it turns out, contrary to what has been asserted for the last month or so, it WASN"T the private security guards who caused the outbreak - it was a night manager at the hotel. who was patient zero. So, military or police assisting or not, wasn't the issue. And it was then a failure of the DHHS to manage infection within the hotel once they knew of the infection which led to the security guards being infected and then infecting their families. How infected guards were allowed to spread it to their families is a key question:

Coronavirus Victoria: Patient zero for Victoria'''s second wave was not a security guard

Schoolies? During a pandemic? That's insane.

Add Toolies to it and the entire State would end up in Stage 4.
