Maybe they are able to prove their case. Time will tell.

Some people look at what is happening in the States where the people have done and continue to do the right thing by socially distancing and abiding by whatever quarantine procedures were and still are in place and as a result of this life has returned to almost normal once again and they Hate it that it isn't the same where they live.
Like a bunch of spoiled kids, aren't they. They've been telling themselves they are the centre of the universe for so long , now they actually believe it. Wife and I went to Caloundra today, to check out our van site for when we go up for a few days. A nippers carnival was on, happy smiling people everywhere. I thought what a tragedy it would be if these haters got their way and COVID gained a foothold here. Like it has in NSW and Victoria.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

What really annoys me is how some of you here have made an issue out of the so called politics of this. No one seems to care that most Queenslanders are just glad not to have an outbreak like elsewhere. Call it what you want, luck, politics , whatever. As long as they keep doing what is working. They say character comes out in a crisis, some of the character being displayed around the traps leaves a little to be desired.

As it hasn't been proven one way or the other of course it is an observation at this point in time. If there really is something "dodgy" to be revealed then better it is now.

That is why it is in the Courts, where it should be decided.

    Simples.

Re Caloundra. Looks nice there, the images remind me of those early ones of the Gold Coast in the early days of it's existence.

One tinpot Pub & a Small zoo near the beach on Cavill Ave. plus a few "shacks".

My B in L was born, brought up & lived at Beaudesert & showed me some B&W Images. I hope Coloundra dosn't go the same way, but I bet it will.

LOTS of interesting tidbits in that link, like two scientists who found life just too difficult. Sadly.

And, another good reason to re-think mask-wearing edicts.... PPE on our beaches... as one team in Cornwall picks up 650 plastic gloves and 250 face masks | Daily Mail Online

Sourcing them is hard enough, where do we SAFELY dispose of these thingd, saturated with the DEADLY virus. ?

Ah no probs SQ, they would have thought about proper disposal of those items. Wouldn't they? Yeah roight.

All infectious waste is Incinerated from all accountable /repeatable medical places - I hate my bills or non infectious waste being put in my infectious waste bins. Fully share your frustration with littering by selfish VIPs

I am heading off on Tuesday for a couple of days fishing 150k's away before the demersal ban kicks in on 15/10 without a care in the world because WA has the COV19 problem under control
Still I won't be calling in anywhere on the way and I still won't "Mingle" when I get there Just in Case, Even without any cases reported it doesn't take any effort whatsoever to keep my eye on the ball so that everyone else stays safe

    Yeah, Caloundra is well developed now, but it's the people that make it still a delightful spot. Our long term plan is to sponsor the grand kids in the Nippers program, [ just a offer at this point] and use our van as a base for the ones that want to do the nippers thing. Court ? Do you mean this ;

    It's puzzling.
    Must be other factors.
One might be the willingness of the population to act responsibly, which seems low in the USA.
Lots and LOTS of confounders.... like metabolic health for starters, then there's the minor detail of how many cycles each country uses on their PCR tests. (Unreliable, not fit for purpose, differeant brands / staff/reagents/cycles used.... and where the ducks are flying...)

Then there are differences in degree of government guidance as to how a positive result is to be interpreted, - and where it's listed.

    Then each country's hospital system.
Add probable differences in therapies, eg, China uses high dose IV ascorbic acid and earlier, govt-mandated in Shanghai, plus TCM - the West eschews any thing that is not a patented DRUG.
What about each population's natural vitamin D levels ? Vital to human immune system. Evidence clear now that low or "normal" numbers are insufficient when we're strongly challenged. - Here the Slip-Slop-Slap message works against you....
Came across a fascinating graphic, showing the countries that used HCQ - EARLY - had better survival rates. - A waste of time & money once symptoms are established.

Cracked record time....Over 80's are at higher risk, even without co-morbidities. Co-incidentaly, the worst mortality in the UK is in those who's age exceeds the national average life-span !

Last of all...the more PCR tests done on "asymptomatic" folk, the more (? false) Positive results found and therefore higher the 'case-demic'. Again, the honesty of each country's reporting.

Good News for Victorians who hate wearing (and buying ) surgical masks....

"...Overall, it seems mask requirements are being used as a psychological manipulation tool to encourage compliance with vaccination once a vaccine becomes available. It can also be viewed as a badge of submission to tyranny. I predict it is likely that, at some point in the future, a tradeoff will be offered: Mask mandates will be dropped provided everyone gets vaccinated.

By then, many may be willing to take just about anything as long as they don't have to wear a mask anymore — although some, like Offit, warn that masks may remain a requirement for years to come, even with a vaccine.
    "

With one of the highest rates in the world, I can only imagine how happy our asthmatics will feel about this !

    - Read the full article here:- and especially note the virus size compared with 'flu virus size... and N95 "size". Fly-wire masks anyone? - nice and cheap. What Will It Take for Masks and Face Shields to End?
