All that proves is Victorians like to be told what to do. If removalists are essential in all states then the list of essential workers is irrelevant to the spread of covid to Victoria. The fact the idiots didn't wear their masks should entitle them to big fines and civil liability though.

The rules only work when when those abiding by them aren't afraid of losing their livelihood. This is the biggest problem with the current NSW lockdown. The current Covid emergency payments are not JobKeeper, therefore bosses have no incentive to casual keep staff on.

So people doing voluntary, light exercise are exempt from wearing masks, but workmen humping heavy furniture must wear masks!
What a ridiculous, double standard. It's totally impractical to wear a mask while performing heavy, manual work.

Yes that is a double standard but I’ve been doing it for a year now - you get used to it. I don’t find a mask interferes with my breathing at all - even when I’m sweating my arse off on the tools - Have done plenty of full on physical days while wearing a mask down here. I think most Melbournians have got pretty used to them to be honest.

If they’d followed the rules we wouldn’t be ****ing and moaning about all this now but they didn’t so we all suffer. They should be fined and sued IMO.

Of course not. To clarify, two separate issues.

1. They should have been wearing masks. No question. They did the wrong thing.

2. But if they’d ‘stayed home’ altogether they might have lost their jobs because the new disaster payment doesn’t tie people to their jobs like JobKeeper did. That’s the problem.
As DiscoMick has clarified they are essential workers, so perhaps not an issue.

I find wearing a mask inhibits my breathing, just walking through a shopping centre, it also fogs up my glasses.
