52,000 tests in Qld yesterday, 16 new cases, all linked to the primary case, 4 in the community, but only for a combined period of 5 days, and also while lock down was current. After a discussion with the Premier, the Federal government will be moving forward 85,000 doses of Pfizer due to be issued in September, to August. Remember the mud Army, after the floods? Qld has mobilised a care Army of volunteers to assist those in quarantine with such things as delivery of essential food , and other issues relating to their plight. We have over 7,000 in quarantine ATM, and compliance with covid precautions is said to be very high , with no compliance issues reported.

New cases in the USA are mainly younger, sicker quicker, and unvaccinated. Delta makes up 80% of cases in the US now. Dr Cam Patterson chancellor of the University of Arjkansas says " this feels like an entirely different disease". In January, adults under 50 represented 22% of hospitalised patients, now people 18 to 49 account for 41%. Less than 50% of Americans 18 to 39 are vaccinated , compared to more than 80 % to those aged 65 to 84. In this article there is an excellent example of how demanding the virus control system from the government can be. Also there is news that Israel is introducing restrictions in order to avoid a full lock down.

Thanks for that. I was talking about the 7,000 in quarantine. And it was AFAIK. She has probably gone back to NSW.

if i understood correctly, data from israel, if you got pfizer vaccinated in janurary, vaccine efficiently has dropped to under 20%

The virus has moved to the regions in two States. Cairns in Qld, and the Hunter Valley in NSW. Cairns is a Reef Pilot, and so far it seems to be confined to him, The Hunter is from Lake Munmorah Public School, and Morriset High School. All staff and students at the schools are self isolating . The Numbers are still up in NSW, but that is to be expected, they need more time. They'll get there , they just have to hang in there.
