I do not think India taking it seriously would have done much except delay it a bit, and possibly reduce the death rate.

It's really a minor inconvenience, to keep the community safe. (There's some sort of irony in there.)

Yeah, what could possibly go wrong & that'll be the day/night that a huge Tropical Storm arrives & all hands on deck will be required.

The responsible authorities in NSW knew right from day 1 it was delta with the limo driver.

    Could have happened anywhere, perhaps.

You're right you know. Some ask the question knowing what the reply will be but just to get their voice on air so their boss knows they are on the job. There are some dopes amongst them to be sure.

What ****es me right off is mostly you hear the replies but as some loon has setup the interview location over the fence from a Railway Marshal-ling Yard or similar location, ie. the end of a Runway or under a flight path etc. so you never hear the question which could be any old crap to relate the reply to.

A Media Opportunity/update with all the latest news my arse.

    Bloody dummies!

Molte said it best. Helmut Von Elder Molte, a 19th century Prussian Field Marshal, " Plans always need to be changed once enacted in real life situations. The emphasis is on flexibility, as opposed to strict adherence to policy. Or put simply ,"The best battle plans mean nothing on first contact with the enemy. What matters is how quickly the leader is to adapt." I'll put this up only because I think the German language is cool.

They weren't caught off-guard, they painted themselves into a corner by politicising snap lockdowns - because, to paraphrase, "that's what Victorians do".

'Intelligence' in war means you have an advantage with timeframes for appropriate, decisive and effective response, if you even need it.
