Why are people so stupid.

My Mum is 93 and lives in our home in Belmont, Lake Macquarie - our local beach is Blacksmiths Beach - until now just basic restrictions like wearing masks and social distancing.

So on Friday last, a few low life's with covid decide to break lockdown in Western Sydney and travel to Blacksmiths Beach for a party - result Lake Macquarie, Greater Newcastle, the Hunter and Upper Hunter are going into 7 days lockdown - all because the stupidity of people breaking the rules. If people accidently break the changing rules - fine be lenient but where they deliberately break the rules heavier penalities need to be applied.

The school outbreak at Morriset High School is less sinister as it is on the border of the Central Coast and it is not clear yet whether a kid from Morriset visited their mates in the Central Coast or vice versa but it has spread to the school.

People just need to obey the health orders.

As far as my Mum goes, already living alone she cannot have visitors - grandson visits today but he will be gone by 5.00PM - no other visitors until late next week. Will her visit to the Doctor go ahead next week - don't know - same as her home care visit next week. Thankfully her home care shopping has already been done this week and should carry her over to next week.

Terrible stress on paramedics in Sydney, being called into homes where all the residents are sick with Covid, some dying in their beds while the paramedics try and fail to save them. Then having to put up with selfish people denying Covid is real. Respect.

I was trying to be nice. Gladys is on her own, I'm afraid. The treasurer wants her job, and can't be trusted. The Health Minister is a jibbering mess, Barilaro , enough said. It's the Gladys and Dr Chant show, I hope they hold it together. They have to, and hats off if they do.

I hope she is fine. It's a heavy weight to carry, without support. People up here are warming to her, sticking to her guns under duress. Gutsy play.

I think she's feeling the pressure because people are dying, numbers are up, no end in sight.

No back up any more from Slo Mo........... the previous 'gold standard' is irrelevant and lockdowns (not stay at home........... please) are the weapon of choice in a vaccine desert.

This is not a political statement, could be applied to anyone.

If India had taken things seriously we might not have delta.

Delta has made stevadores out of toreador's world wide. It's a new ball game, as the American Doctors are saying, it's like a different disease. No shame being caught off guard, it's how you recover that's important.
