I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
Call a spade a Spade a spade? Sugar coating mistakes and then not leaning from them is gross incompetence. It is very obvious in cases numbers and deaths with Covid.
NSW made several mistakes assuming they are some how better than the rest of the worlds or other states experience in defeating prior outbreaks or loosing to outbreaks and seeing a large number of dead people. We all hope the lock down in NSW can slow/stop the current shocking trend they have. Its painful plus we know doing that- the other option is much worse.
"Ruby coating" would be a rude reminder? On the bright side I hear a lot more vaccines "just might" be hear in a few weeks. In July we all heard "Australia's COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine supply to arrive a month earlier than scheduled, from September to August"
I know of heap more Medical GP sites who sat on the sideline and many who were sidelined by bureaucracy and red tape are now starting. The major limiting factor is still the number of vaccines available! Not pulling punches on that stuff up either. "One of the federal government’s key vaccine deals has been hit with major delays, with 51 million doses of Novavax originally due to arrive in the second half of this year now not expected until 2022.Since initially touting Novavax as one of three secured deals that could immunise the entire population as a “primary” vaccine by the end of this year, the federal government has quietly edged away from the commitment as it focuses instead on securing more Pfizer vaccines."
As far as I can see the rate of vaccinations could be ramped up IF we had more Pfizer as few seem to want the AZ I and millions of others happily had. Promises like more faster being confused with a quicker delivery schedule ( we appreciate the faster delivery schedule!) If the Novavax promised for 2021 is not coming it seem a hole?
"More Pfizer doses for Australia through July but 'heavy amounts' not here until October: Greg Hunt" and PMs "The Morrison Government has secured an additional 85 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine" for 2022 not helping this year at all?
If Mr Hunts Heavy amounts in October is true it will be helpful. The issue I think is too many confusing and little clarity by too many chiefs and too many opinions sprouted as facts.
Lara Tingle nails it I think "There were so many fires to put out this week, yet never has it felt quite so much like no-one was holding the hose.
Instead, the gushing and unrelenting surge of new cases, new statistics, new targets and timetables, whiplash-inducing changes of policy position and rhetoric, curled and whipped back on itself, drenching us in a sense of apparent helplessness about either extinguishing or even controlling the virus, but failing to hose down increasing despair and anger in the public that the powers that be have things under control."
Now the good stuff time Bravo Zulu "

running in that heat would have killed most of us! Its not just her name promise
Sorry no dates, the remaining family seem a bit uninterested in passing on any general " family historical" info so far. He did come to Adelaide to hold a Funeral Service about 34 years ago for our Mother (his Sister) & now he has joined her.
However, another distant friend of ours visited The Wall (?) when her fiance got her interested in climbing & she has been back umpteen millions of times but we haven't seen her in the last few years so hope he hasn't pushed her off.
I bet you do not let your young sister out after dark Mr Diver.
Re this latest report about using any medically connected "trades" (sorry J1) to give Vax, it is coincidental that 'er indoors strongly made this suggestion to our local Fed Member. What a waste of skills waiting in the wings & they are now still talking about going back to the days of visiting factories like they did in the good ole days. If I am lucky I hope I am not still around when the next cats- arse-trophy hits. The organisation of this has been bloody woeful.

Back from the Olympics ... (Wonder who got the Gold for... most "cases" in a national team...)
With rising numbers (?) all over the place, especially the higher jabbed countries such as Israel and UK... all 'noticing' an uptick in BreakThrough Cases, there's still "Plan B", medications to treat the disease, - and looking at PreP ('Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis') in particfular.
This study looking back at Orange Man's Favourite, used differantly looks promising.
- part of the Abstract:_ "Alternate approaches to prevention of disease have received little attention, and one medication, hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), has been attacked and dismissed based on flawed studies and political controversy that obscured the value of this treatment as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Hydroxychloroquine Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for COVID-19 in Healthcare Workers from India: A Meta-Analysis - ScienceDirect
Meanwhile, over here in the West, our Commish of Cops is openly talking up 'no jab, - no (less?) job'. for his minions... who apparantly are not well pleased...
One for the vaccination experts:- How does this fit in with companies and governments (State/local/Federal) "forcing" a no jab- no Pay policy ?
Regarding INFORMED CONSENT. ...
......It must be given voluntarily in the absence of undue pressure, coercion or manipulation.
.
It can only be given after the potential risks and benefits of the relevant vaccine, the risks of not having it, and any alternative options have been explained to the person.
Taken from here:- the "Valid Consent" section. Preparing for vaccination | The Australian Immunisation Handbook
I see WA Premier Mark McGowan says the NSW Government appears to have abandoned the National Cabinet goal of suppressing Covid and to be instead trying to 'Iive with' it, so he does not expect to be able to reopen the WA border to NSW people until next year, at the current rate of vaccinations.
If other states also keep their borders closed to NSW until next year, NSW people may feel like outcasts in their own country, particularly over the Christmas holidays, when they won't be able to leave NSW.
This would mean we would not be able to see most of both our families until next year. Not good.

EDIT:- In answer to the Question... I suggest a look at the Fizzer 'T& C's' of their 'Vaccine' sales agreement. (Good luck with finding it !) where every possible eventuallity is loaded against the purchaser..... notably, the 'no cancellation' clauses/penalties in case a safe, cheap, more effective medicine is discovered.... the purchaser is still on the hook. Forever. Imagine the damage to Fizzles for Future Sales , a.k.a. Boosters. ???
If pollies don't have a financial investment in this.... they certainly have an Ego-based drive to 'Double-Down' and NOT change their game, as you so correctly put it.
What is YOUR average or expected weekly gross income when things are not as they are right now ?
What does it plummet to in a lock-down....
What is the base - rate WEEKLY pay of.... Your Premier, and Parliamentarians, of YOUR State ? - which they keep on getting every week of a lockdown or not.
Unless I'm mistaken, there was no economically suicidal 'lockdown' suggested or undertaken for the more recent Pandemics, notably 1968 onwards.
