Has been the law in Vic since July 1 2017, even when the lights are flashing on the other side of an undivided road.

Surprising how few people know about it.

    cheers, DL

The Truck Driver would not have been aware of the situation while allegedly having a blackout, so under normal conditions the Police should have been safe or not been at that spot at all if Speed Gordon hadn't attracted their attention.

    IMHO.

in SA its down to 25 (previously 40) and its still not what I think of a safe working environment largely due to vehicles not slowing down. sometimes three quarter of vehicles have not slowed down.
its good to have a spotter but its not always possible due to the nature of the job

It was revealed that the police woman's body camera recorded the speeder filming her as she lay on the bonnet of a car dying and pleading for help. The speeder replied all he want to do was get home to home to eat his efing sushi. He may not of killed the officers but his actions after makes him not a human being. his hate and disrespect for others is disgusting and pray when he goes to court he gets no mercy,

Let’s hope that your family members also don’t believe in summary justice. Don’t underestimate how fine the line is between a free society and a despotic one.

He'll get a light sentence claiming that he has Mental Health Problems & going by his behaviour who would argue with that? No hanging, no firing squad, no electric chair, no lethal injections, just banged up in a nice cosy facility overlooking the sea with all mod cons etc.. Oh yes the hard bit, getting a smack on the hand while the smacker says "You're a naughty boy. Don't do that again. He'll also sue VICPOL for wrongful arrest & get a lump sum payout.

That is my guess anyway based on some of the sentences handed down in OZ..

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

I’ve been involved in two murder cases, in one case as a witness and potential victim and in the other as the partner of a survivor of a rape, aggravated assault and murder attempt. In neither case did the perpetrator get a slap on the wrist. Both got life with minimums between 20 years and 30 years, which means that both went into prison as men in their 20s and came out as men in their 50s. Light sentencing my arse - in one case the judge so threw the book at the perpetrator that it was the DPP that appealed the sentence - because they needed something worse to throw at the truly heinous offences - and I won’t explain what that involves, because it would turn your stomach, and yes, it occasionally happens in Australia. And if you think that being in prison is a soft experience then you’ve never been near one.

In this case the Porsche driver is an unattractive person but he didn’t actually kill the police and I think that you need to keep that in mind.

Oh, BTW, where’s this cosy prison with sea views? Ravenhall or Ararat don’t have views at all.

Ever been in one and actually had a good look around?
    Or in a youth centre?

We work in them all the time, have for 30 years.

They are not much more than a holiday camp.

And thats not what he said or she said or someone said.

Seen it myself, and how the system has gone downhill over the years, but thats another story, not for a public forum.

But i think this guy won't get off lightly because of what happened, and Police were involved in the incident.
