.Australia Post's 'desperate' hiring blitz follows pandemic controversies
I found this declaration from Aus Post when my express mail failed to arrive on time.
Quote -
Effective 20 April 2020, we're temporarily suspending the Express Post guarantee of a refund and replacement envelope or satchel for articles that don’t meet the next business day delivery standard
Express Post is still available, but please note there are significant delays
Our Express Post service will continue to be our fastest postal delivery option for our customers – and we'll continue to prioritise these deliveries. But please be aware that we’re experiencing significant delays, and Express Post parcels could take five business days or more to be delivered.
This change is due to delays to our delivery services caused by the ongoing impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, including:
- a significant increase in parcels that require manual sorting
 - social distancing measures in place at our facilities, which mean we can’t process items as quickly as usual
 - a significant reduction in the availability of passenger flights – which, in addition to our dedicated overnight airfreight network, also carry our parcels

The temporary removal of the Express Post guarantee is not intended to impact any rights that customers may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

It's too bad they don't tell you this when purchasing an express mail envelope from the post office.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
I get tracking numbers on everything I’ve ordered so generally you can see when it’s been sent however I think you are correct - I’ve had a couple of things recently I’ve ordered that don’t even seem to leave the warehouse for a week and when I send an email you get ‘There are postage delays’ from them - and magically a tracking number from Aus post turns up usually within a few hours after that...

Only because some looked behind the spinny thing that day. "Hey Boss, what do I do with this one, it's dated June 2019?"
"Aw **** Bruce, just chuck it in with the other one's from last year, It'll get there one day. Probably the year dot"
(Much laughter heard in Sorting Room)
I have two packages coming from seller booth sent same day @ same time & are the same thing so same size & are coming with AP courier service. One has arrived on Thursday & the other has not arrived as yet & tracking shows sometime next week. The box they are in is 150mm X 100mm X 60mm Wt of each item 50g & box is large enough to hold10 Using the tracking list looks like they are coming different roots , incredible .
The reason they are in two orders is that I wanted to order 5 of the item but every time I tried to order five the eBay listing said there was a problem so I ordered 3off & 2off then the seller charged for two delivery fees & refused to refund one . I am still trying to get one of my $9 delivery fees back as I placed the two orders 1 minute apart & sent a message with the second order asking for one delivery & they waited 2 days to send . Know not to buy off them again .
My investment interest had me looking a US mail trucks (Workhorse - not buying just looking! ) they have a last mile delivery tool in development and use in some places

Still yet to see drone delivery rolled out anywhere even though they say it’s coming - about 2 years ago. There have been some court cases around noise pollution overseas which has seen this curtailed a bit in places - I know if I had them flying over my house every day I’d be complaining too. Not to mention I’m sure that some people would have no dramas taking them out of the air for **** and giggles.
And imagine when the first one falls out of the sky and injures or kills someone - when, not if - that will be curtains for the industry.
Can’t see it being that viable to be honest at least at the moment.
