Is that why Centrelink has just cancelled payments to 9100 homeless people, and 74,000 Aussies in total, which seems a tad harsh during a recession with few jobs available?
The poor will be punished until morale improves, it seems.
Sorry mate, but the Centrelink you remember is not the organizsation it once was.
'Heartbreaking': 9,100 homeless suffer jobseeker payment suspensions amid recession | Welfare | The Guardian
The money these people are getting comes out of the public purse (tax payers money) So what is so hard for people to meet these mutual obligations??
The dole is for people that are unfortunately out of work at the moment, It isn't meant to be "Sit down Money" or a " living wage" for people who can't be bothered looking for a job FFS![]()

How do you get savings if you're living under a bridge or in a doorway because Centrelink cut off your payments?
How does cutting off a homeless person's income because they missed an appointment help the homeless person to find work when there are at least 13 unemployed people for each advertised vacancy?
It's just punishing the victims, I reckon.
