It’s like the bus, but when you get to the bus stop you have to stand in a line and wait, then have someone make sure you’re not a terrorist, then walk miles, wait then get in another line and wait, then shuffle slowly onto the bus, wait, take your seat, wait. Listen to the drivel about safety, wait, once you’ve finally got underway in a seat that’s a little smaller than the bus seat you’re used to, stay there for hour upon hour without moving.
At the detonation, the bus stops, you wait, disembark, walk miles to get your bag, wait, then battle traffic in a taxi, car or bus/train to get to your destination.
As Tins said - you aren’t missing much.

None of this applies to GA. I would definitely recommend you take at least one flight in a light aircraft, even if it's only a TIF (Trial introductory flight ). Unless you want to have a near death experience, avoid helicopters...
( What am I saying? Spud's post about his spouse will be a near death experience if ever she reads them)

I think for a first flight you fly to Adelaide from mt gambier, you can watch the screws on the wings spin around and have less room than a back seat in a d2 and then bank left on the approach over the hills and almost fall into the person seat over the isle which is an arms length away, utter expletives have the co pilot and everyone else look at you as your sweating and looking pale then when you finally get up to leave the plane look at the pilot and think he’s no older than 18 and still the co pilot gives you a dirty look …. There’s a reason we have a license take a holiday and drive to where you want go lol

In the seventies I flew on a DC3 which replaced the Fokker for some reason. N my return when talking to my mother referred to it as an historic aircraft. Horrified my mother as the only aircraft she had ever flown on were with Bush Pilot Airways who had operated the DC3
