I have had a few to many dealings with Westpac, they are an absolute PITA......quote

what are your dealings with Westpac that are so painful ,if its personal dont worry about disclosing....

It's just that Westpac are our friends...seriously....honestly. We have dealt with them with 3 houses , many investments , my retirement , my wifes up and coming retirement and with excellent assistance to my 3 children as they started their adult life with house purchases and other assistance.

We cannot praise their representatives enough as they assisted us strongly with investment portflios , gave correct and timely advice on matters.

I just wonder why some people become enemies of these institutions. I have actually tried to direct some acquaintences to our financial planners but unsuccessfully , yet they ask us what we are doing right.

These people actually help you if you let them.

Since my mother decided to depart the earth,I have had a few to many dealings with Westpac, they are an absolute PITA.

Went to sort some stuff of hers at CBA today,it was like a breath of fresh air.
They were actually helpfull and sorted everything out with little notice, all done and dusted.

Try that with Westpac,no hope, they won’t even return a call after leaving a message to arrange an appointment.
Without an appointment, turn up at a branch wanting something and you will have no hope of getting anything sorted.
    Hopeless.

Oh well, that’s my rant done for today….

.......& a pretty good one too old boy if I may be so bold to comment.

Banks? Stirling used to have a main street half full of them once, the other half of the street were Real Estate Agents. Plenty of Estate people but not one bank repeat, not one bank in a growth area, but of course there is Mount Barker where two banks have their front doors so close together that if you don't have your wits about you, you can walk into the wrong bank. No Kid.

One ATM is in the front of the local Pharmacy in Stirling, of all places, which I suppose could be handy if you require Smelling Salts when you have rcd. an ATM printout & you find you are overdrawn to buggery, but no personal contact.

Seems they rely on phone inquiries.

They are really taking the urine these days.

I can't be the only bloke in Oz that believes all/most business PR is really crap. You reply to Feedback& they can't even be buggered to ask you your problem.. No, it is much simpler to ignore it & maybe that pesky bastard will go away so let someone else handle it with a bit of luck the day they are off crook. Does bugger all good for their business image though.

I suspect most times these businesses do not not have a reliable Data Base so they can see at a glance what is going on. They ask the same questions that they have asked before a Trillion times & not just for security either. I won't even mention A * L as one such establishment, oh bugger, I just did.

I recall reading somewhere that $100s were kept aside by the criminal fraternity for ease of "handling" & at that time were in very short supply because of that.

I haven't had one in my Moth - haven for years so they are probably still in short supply but due to C-19 I probably would use my card & maybe they could be in better circulation because of that as well. If you like I could give you my Card# & password & you try it out for yourselves.

You can get them pretty easily from a branch (assuming you can find one) I've used cash to pay for cheap cars etc and got a few thousand in 100s without any difficulty.

There's not many options if you resent paying the $20.00 for a bank cheque which makes it difficult to haggle. You can do bank transfers but that can be a PITA if the banks don't play nicely together and you have to deposit money and wait for it to clear.
Cash is convenient at the end of the day, and still legal tender despite the wishes of the federal government.

Yes. Has been for decades. And banks no longer immediately honour other banks' bank cheques; they follow the same clearing process as all other cheques, typically three to seven days, although you can pay an extra fee for special clearance. This is primarily due to the opening up of the financial system in the '90s and cheques being so old school and easily counterfeited.
