Ron, you seem surprised; no one else is.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Was your series current check before or after the reg? If after, pull the wires running into the input straight from the panel and run the current test again. The standard regs are crap, but a good MPPT reg is expensive but worth the dollars.

    Fleabay

I now understand why some call it fleabay. Up until now I have had years of positive experiences. I recently ordered a solar panel, luckily only about $25.

It didn't turn up, first item in years not to do so. I sent the seller a message, especially as it was showing delivered on the toll tracking(when sellers freight description had said auspost would deliver with signature required).

Gave seller a few days to respond, nothing. So opened a 'not received case' with fleabay. They closed the case stating that the seller had shown it had been delivered. I appealed, they stayed with the decision. I contacted them via chat, a nice person there looked into it, but said she couldn't override their decision as the seller had shown it as delivered by toll tracking. She suggested I contact toll.

I have emailed toll and will await a reply from them. Not feeling too confident about that.

There is a possibility that it was delivered to the wrong house, or that for about 2hrs during that day it was allegedly delivered, when no one was home, that it was stolen.

My main concern is, that the seller never responded at all to me. Fleabay made decisions based purely on the sellers tracking. No account of using toll and no signature instead of auspost with signature. I then tried to leave negative feedback re the seller not helping and especially not communicating...and that was removed, because I had opened the 'buyer protection case'....so I have been muted.

The only consolation is, that I had this experience with a 'cheap' item, and not some of the much much more expensive items that I have purchased over the years. Seriously erodes my confidence in using said site, with all its supposed protections.

    JUST A THOUGHT

Ron have you ever thought about getting a stranger to buy what you need, the odds of buying faulty goods could only improve. If I lived near you I would go shopping for you, or you could get someone from forum to shop for you

After. I don't want to start cutting wires.

I have a Return Authorisation from the vendor along with a pre-paid label to return the item. Fortunately, I hadn't tossed out the packaging.

Still no reply from the vendor after I returned the panel some weeks back.

On a separate item, we have just returned from a week in Melbourne.

Whilst there I bought a Crumpler camera bag (there's a Crumpler store in the same lane as our hotel). I already had a camera bag with me so, because of airline baggage restrictions, we stripped the dividers out of the camera bag and put it into one of our suitcases, then packed clothes in and around it.

When we got home, I got all the dividers and went to reassemble the camera bag only to find I was now missing two of the dividers. How, I don't know - they were bright lime green and would have been easily spotted if I'd dropped them on the floor.

Oh, it wasn't my fault that the mini-bus collided with Puffing Billy! I got onto PB's website to book tickets to be greeted with a message that all trips that afternoon had been cancelled.

It was Gav. Thanks for coming into town to meet up. Our trip to Tullamarine on Friday arvo was a shocker. I hope your trip back home wasn't too bad.

Seriously, from the time we checked out to the time we got home, 12 hours had elapsed. Almost quicker to drive than fly!

Our flight was delayed due to late arrival of the flight crew coming in on another flight. Then when we go to Sydney, we had to wait to disembark as paramedics had to attend our flight for an ill passenger, then the shuttle was late getting to the airport to get us.

    I've got an idea!!!!
My MIL lives in Penrith. We could get her to buy all of Ron's stuff. Then Ron could send his SWMBO around to pick it up.
That way the Gremlins will have no clue who bought what and the Mil's Argentinian boy friend won't get jealous and murder Ron.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.

They actually had a lane closed due to a broken down taxi so took an hour to get home. Totally worth it though. My propensity for buying faulty goods continues.
