I'm also thinking I'll do a video tutorial, and place it on Youtube, so hopefully you will have no trouble.

The files you'll need, (firmware upgrade, map files, menu/skin files) I'll place online somewhere.

    Wish me luck...
Unfortunately, well technically fortunately but not in this instance, I'm running Mac only so I don't suppose you'd mind getting mine up and running and then posting it down to me?? Happy to pay whatever it costs to do so.

Let me know if that's cool mate.

    Cheers.

Great find! I'd be keen on one and instructions for installing / enabling off-road mapping.

    Cheers

[QUOTE=Ranga;1055642]I've been bying these units DealExtreme: $103.76 5.0" LCD 372MHz CPU Windows CE 5.0 Bluetooth + GPS Navigator w/FM Transmitter + 2GB Maps SD for some time now
    SNIP

One downside is the default interface software - it's a bit clumsy, and IMHO damn ugly! Also, it only comes with road navigation software.

But, the best thing is, after some modification, I clean this up and ultimately get it to run OziExplorer CE - and any other software supported by Windows CE, including the road software it's shipped with.

    Hi Ranga,
I'm sure that it's embedded in your info somewhere, but can the GPS Oziexplorer CE communicate with the full Oziexplorer on a laptop? If so, how?

    TIA,
    Peter

Not quite sure what you mean, but what you can do is save the files you use in OziCE (routes, waypoints, tracks etc) and load them in the PC version.

One cool function is saving the track you make in OziCE, loading it into the PC version, and exporting it as a *.klm file (only the PC version can do this). This file can then be loaded in Google Earth, so you can see where you've been on satellite images.

I've used the unit with oziCE on the full version of ozi on the desktop without any problems or clashes. Have saved maps on the unit then transferD it all to ozi to look at way points and other things bloody great unit
