Mine's waiting for a new main ECU at the moment. Hopefully that will be the end of it. Apparently the chafed wire last time it was in with the same fault was in the same general area as the ECU.

    Cheers

Well, the D3 has got its new computer, so let's hope it's fixed. I've got to say that the dealer has been very helpful through all of this (even if it took a while to work out what was wrong). I guess intermittent faults can be a bugger to find!

I've had mine back from LR for a week with no problems & now going to work at 5am on Good Friday its done it again.

Looks like we will be taking the wifes car away, I don't trust the D3.
Please keep us up to date with the progress on new ECU.

What did they do to yours to "fix" it? Interesting to know if they thought the problem was in a similar vein.

They found a few small programming issues but couldn't get it to fail. Even the manager took it home to Beenleigh from Woolloongabba twice. So no real explanation.

Before taking the car back to LR, the park brake fault came on, took a punt and went out to the Otways for a few days. Gave the car a good work out, no transmission fault, didnt use the park brake at all.

Took into LR. the faults I was experiencing came up on their logs. they could see that it was getting stuck in low range 3rd and unable to go to 2nd.

They updated the ECU on the engine and ECU on the transmission, did a service on the transmission (car is on 80,000kms). They think that it may have been a solenoid problem.

    They cleaned the park brake.

Transmission is as smooth as ever, will see how it goes.

Once I got the car in the drive way, the park brake fault came on and went off a few times. No odd noises, used the park brake a dozen times and the fault hasnt reappeared.

Just had the very same thing. Happened three times in half an hour then didn't come back in the next 300kms and three days.

Dealer updated the transmission software. We'll see what happens.

    Hi,
I have a 2007 TDV6 SE as well. This started happening not long after I got the car. Did some research and changed the fuel filter. No difference. Off to the dealer for a service. They said it’s the fuel filter and changed it as part of the service. No difference. But they said the rear diff was noisy and needs replacing. Back to the dealer with the fault happening more and more often. Changed the High pressure fuel pump and diff So far so good.
Lucky the previous owner purchased an Allianz.

It seems that the supposed experts cannot actually diagnose problems and just start replacing bits at customers expense until the problem is fixed. And the techos do not under stand why we have no confidence in their abilities.

Well, it's done it again....twice. Now stuck in Brisbane and being towed to Austral in the morning. Maybe they'll have more luck in fixing the thing properly. I must say I'm getting very sick of this very expensive car stranding either me or my wife or both all over South East Queensland.

So far it's up to about $2500 dollars worth of "fixes" that haven't fixed the problem.....GRRRRRR
