Won't it run in Win XP compatibility mode?
I managed to pick up at a good price a pre loved BAS module, the kicker for me the need for a 32 bit windows environment to run his software, I have a 64 bit win7 so hopefully BAS will have a software update in the not to distant future.....
New :- D3 TDV6 2006 SE
Bullbar, traxide dual battery
General grabber ATs
Mitch hitch
Home made drawer and fridge system
Foldable UHF antenna on roof rail
Won't it run in Win XP compatibility mode?
I would be interested to see how this goes as I have been doing some research on upgrades for my newly acquired D3 TdV6. I am not too sure how a BAS tune is any different to what people call the generic tunes offered by Bluefin and others though because unless you put the vehicle on the dyno it is not optimised to the vehicle.

If you ask Bluefin will send different maps.
The same for BAS too, just inform him on what you want, acceleration, towing, all round improvement etc.

Each standard tune on vehicles can be slightly different from another vehicles - BAS takes your tune and tweeks it in critical areas to meet your requirements - as a result the BAS tune on your vehicle is unique to your vehicle whereas a Generic tune is exactly that - the same on every vehicle it is installed on.
That is why BAS require you to email them your standard tune for update rather than just sending out you a generic tune.

Garry,
Not trying to be a pain, especially given that I am the new guy but I just can't see how each vehicle is different in the manner is which you are talking about. I can accept that there may be firmware differences every 6 months or so that would mean that the information might be stored in a different spot etc.
I would have thought that something like vehicle KM and how servicing schedule would have a greater impact on the health of the engine and thus power output.
Without seeing the vehicle you are only getting someone else interpretation of what they think that you want.
I have no doubt that BAS have spent plenty of time and money to get their respective 'generic' tunes spot on compared to some of the others but I think that to refer to then as anything other than another form of generic tune is take what is effectively good marketing that makes you feel more involved in the process and calling it something that it isn't.
I have every intention of getting mine re flashed as I have a detailed understanding of hoe the 'chips' work and I can't say that I am a huge fan. Additionally because the turbo on the D3 has a mechanically actuated set of vanes rather than with a vacuum as you see on the Jap stuff it is much harder to tinker with the boost.

Paul
