I guess in relative terms not too bad but when you have the aerodynamics of a brick and the fact that drag is a function of that, cross sectional area and velocity squared it makes sense that as speed increases it is going to take a bit more to push it through the air.

Garry, I do all my own work on my cars. I won't be taking to anyone with maybe the exception of getting the belts done when they are due in 60k time so accidental re-flash is not really an issue for me.

    Regards
    Paul

Correct... For info and interest sake:

    Defender 110 TDCi - 0.65 cd
    Discovery 4 - 0.4 cd
    Evoque - 0.34 cd
    MY13 RRS - 0.37 cd

    And for comparison

    VE commodore - 0.34 cd
    FG Falcon - 0.34 cd
    MY13 Golf - 0.31 cd
    MY13 Touareg - 0.37 cd

Discovery 4 isn't that bad considering it size

    ECU upgrade

    Hi all,

still have fun driving the beast around. I must admit I didn't think that an engine mod would give so much enjoyment. I am starting to think, "what next?" Maybe exhaust upgrade, intercooler tweak, there is no end... yes there is, the bank balance is the limiter.

I will be able to report on a 2000 km towing trip as we have 14 more sleeps before we head north to the Coral Coast on our annual fishing trip. I am sure the upgrade will assist in this area. Let's hope the fish want to come to the party..

    regards
    Kevin

Having an unusual experience. Firstly I know the consumption readout on the dash is optimistic; using distance done per litres when refueling, I find it 1.3l/100km optimistic (ie 9.8l/100km on the dash is actually 10.1l/100km).

Around town, if I drive conservatively and smoothly, in peak hour, I get average of 18.2l/100km. If I give it the boot, and really go for it, then back off, I end up with 15.2l/100km. What gives?

I don't have the D4 anymore, but my newby shows 99.9 Lt per 100Klm's just after I reset it immediately after filling with fuel. Try doing the same

    Cheers, Craig
