So what made you go with this over say a BAS remap?
Garry
Hi all, many thanks to all the contributors regarding the various posts of Chip V ECU mapping upgrades. I did heaps of research on this forum and made the decision to get an Auto Logic upgrade by Discovery Automotive in Wangara Perth.
Just for your feedback I am very happy with it. Didn't do any of the technical dyno assessments before and after etc etc, just seat of the pants. Driving down the road from the pick up point my first thought was, "yeh, I can notice a bit of a change but not huge." Later that day in traffic I needed to give the right foot a tickle to make space, so the boot went down to what would have normally been the required accelerator pedal setting and I nearly ran up the back of the car in front of me!
A week later of testing (fanging around the burbs) and I can say there is a vast improvement, noticeably in : delay in pick up (almost gone). (turbo lag, not gearbox related); more torque; much better towing (2 tonne Noosa Cat); and driveability.
I have not done any fuel economy tests yet. Will wait until the blood cools a bit!!
regards
Kevin

was it a 2.7TDV6?
Kevo has a D3 I think...
How much was it ????
cheers
Hi again,
The BAS was my preferred option from my research until I spoke to the guys at Discovery Auto. The price was $720 plus gst, they did the upgrade in about half an hour and guaranteed a free re install if for some reason I ever had to go back to the factory settings. I don't use the dealer for servicing so switching between tunes that BAS offers wasn't a feature for me.
Convenience played a part too.
BTW It is a D3 S model.
There is a lot of info to wade through when researching this option!!

Only problem... Auto logic is a generic remap.
BAS can accommodate main purpose, multiple maps and has fault clearing capability.
How can convenience be a factor?
BAS delivered to your door, done at home and fault scanner for when away.
Different interpretation of convenient I guess
What if you have to do a software up grade at an indy - will your supplier do the reload every time - how many times will they do a reload?
That is the advantage of BAS - 2 minutes to remove your map and 2 minutes to put it back on after work is done - for as many times you want.

True on all fronts. Convenience = laziness ??? Quite possible.
I assume "indy" means independent dealer?? I never use the dealer network now so doing the remap again should not be an issue while in Perth. As I said BAS were the preferred option until "laziness" and impatience got the better of me.
Now no more feedback on this thanks. It is like just buying a pair of shoes and walking down the road to the next shop and seeing the same shoes on special at half price.
Actually, in all sincerity thanks for the feedback. My next upgrade will be posted and discussed prioir to purchase!
