I went away with some friends June L/weekend and had a play on some reasonably steep inclines out of a creek. Now there was a 110 there with a rear locker and on one particular hill he took 2 attempts then said wow I feel like I'm cheating with a locker, I then had a go stopping half way up then continuing on up 1st go, My comment was I feel like I'm cheating driving this car:D Gotta love the D3.
Yes and by the way he is a chutney crotch Too so its not the Disco drivers:ninja:

I agree Driving a D3/4 off road against other (common ;) ) 4WD's is like cheating. They are that good even in standard trim for what is essentially a luxury vehicle.
Add in some goodies like 17's with muds, GOA rods/LLams, front bar, rock sliders and they become an excellent off roader, but retain the fact that they are still a luxury vehicle to drive on road even with the off road enhancing mods.
Most other 4WD's once you mod then become scary pigs to drive on road.
I bet the vast majority of even the hardest core Fender owners if they had a chance of driving a D3/4 fora week including some pretty serious off roading wouldn't want to hand them back once they found out how good late model Disco's are.
I took one of the new ones from the "roadshow" when Sutton Motors had them in Alice a few months ago. I didn't want to hand it back either.
I wanted it to go with the Defender.!
Don't get me started on the massaging, cooled/heated seats and electric everything on the RR. My son asked how far I thought the swear words would carry after the Centres red dirt graced the pristine cream leather.
But if you could afford it the I guess you just ignored it.
