What the? Been done for an eternity. As long as your discs are over minimum thickness then no issue. Feel free to skim them if you’re worried about bedding, but in the one million km I’ve driven it’s never been an issue.

You just need discs in good order, no ridges etc

Does anyone know where a good place is to get Akebono pads, front and rear, for a 2.7 MY!2 D4?
Are the D3 part numbers the correct pads or are they different for the 2.7 D4?
Thanks in advance.
I ended up getting mine from the states in eBay. I tried a local supplier first and they were ridiculously priced. Was willing to pay a bit more, but not nearly double.
20,000 km later and they've barely worn a millimetre.
Pedders carry them
I have just fitted Bremtec rotors and pads They have several different options, rotors and pad under $500 .

Bremtec Brakepads – Trusted by the trade
Interesting. I was quoted $850 for the Bremtec pads alone, which is why i ended up with the Akebonos for half that. I assume you mean $500 for the rotors and another $500 for the pads Crawal? Even my Subaru Forester cost more than $500 for a disc and pad combo lol. I find the standard non slotted or drilled rotors fine, anything else would be a waste of money unless trying to clear mud if you go over a lot of mud terrain.
