Assuming you don't want to drive some ****ty Toyota, I would budget to change:
Alternator
Air Suspension Compressor
Serpentine and fuel pump belts
Water Cooling outlet
Wheel nuts (if they are swollen)
and if you don't have one, get a fault code reader like the IIDTool.
I also have had the EGR value coded out, so as to remove the amount of **** going through the engine. Highly recommend.
I was in a 200 series last week, and reminded just how good the D4 is in comparison. Don't doubt the newer model D4s are better still, and if you have the cash, go for it. If you like it, the D5 is no doubt a fine vehicle too.
