Fuel filter? Do you mean oil filter?
Fuel filter is not difficult, but unless you have a hoist you need to crawl under the car.

No of course they wouldn’t refuse me. The point is that the Indy has always made a big song and dance about how Land Rover service schedules leave a bit to be desired of (eg. LR don’t service the 8 speed trans at all, sealed for life), but then after the last service they tell me that they’re moving to the LR recommended schedule. What the?
Not sure how I’m supposed to tell my $160/hr Indy that I prefer to have my car serviced more regularly than 26000km. So I opted to do the 13000km service myself
Put the front wheels on ramps, removed the trans armour and it’s up there. Personally I didn’t find it to trying. Definitely not as convenient as the D2 location, but I did love the fact that you don’t need to fill the filter with fuel and there’s no weird priming sequence. It was just a change filter, put in the new one, start car. Quite like that
Modified the TD5 fan removal tool to also work on the TDV6.

It is the perfect size for the holding tool to rest against the belt tensioner arm as you undo the fan.
I’ve been noticing a bit of extra soot from the TdV6 when accelerating at highway speeds. Popped the engine cover off and sure enough there’s oily residue all over the throttle body originating at the RHS manifold to throttle join. Took it all apart and found the rubber seal damaged; probably from last time I had it apart. No seals on hand in Darwin so I tried rotating it 90deg, cleaning everything including MAP and MAF then refitting. Smoke tested the intake and it’s somehow sealed up, and I was pleasantly surprised that there weren’t any other leaks. I’m still on the original turbo hoses at 205k. Would have expected a split somewhere by now especially with the tune.
Side note I was stoked with how clean it all was in there. First time I’ve opened it up since I did an EGR delete and tune 15k ago. No more gunk.

Now searching for some new seals and I’m reminded how much we get stung for parts here in Aus.
Part 1316152 is $5 a pop from the major UK suppliers but $20-$30 each from any Australian based supplier I can see online.
So who’s your trusty and affordable Australian based parts supplier. Do they exist?
I've been using trs in Sydney a bit lately due to over seas wait time. I won't hurry back to UK with the service I get from them
