Mine is a 2007 build MY08 UK import. That's stock. I'm pretty sure there's a GAP dash upgrade firmware to do it for older machines.
I log every tank at the bowser. In the country, under "nice" conditions I regularly see 9s. Average over 42 tanks has been 10.75 but a "few" of those were towing.

My best fuel burn since all the build was done is a mid to high 10.
Normal average on a run is around 11.2
To be fair though - I’m not light on for acceleration or avg speed.

Thats always a big factor. The D3 has a pretty undersized clutch for the torque, so I tend to be a bit “granddadish” off the line with lazy rev matched changes, it doesn’t help that the BAS patch for the EGR and DPF delete has caused a throttle “flare” on every change which makes them slower again. I also sit just on or slightly above the limit. Had enough fines and spent enough time walking in my younger years.
If I’m feeling abusive, it will do a 4 wheel spin from a standing start though.
My best has been a run around the South West where I managed 9.06L/100 over 82L. Mum had a very early D1 tdi and I used to regularly better that in the country, but overtaking a b double required a weeks planing.

Garry I forget where I read it, but I think it was on the Disco3 site, that pre-2007 vehicles did not have the instrument software to display the clock in the message centre. My 2006 D3 did not have the clock on the dash so because I have a Nanocom I downloaded the file identified in the thread I read and then used that to upload to my vehicle and it gave me the 24 hour clock in the message centre as you are after.
The other 'benefit' I had was that when I have my headlights on high beam I get the red fuel burning heater icon in the bottom left of the message centre as pre-2007 there was no high beam indicator for Australian D3's. I thought I had a picture of it but can't locate that.
I will post again tomorrow after I have checked which particular file was recommended.
Cheers, Dale
