    Not So Squeezy

Did an airport run to collect:
    1 Son
    1 Daughter-in-law
    1 Grandson
    1 Granddaughter
    2 car seats
    1 pram
    1 high chair
    1 travel cot
    4 carry on bags
    6 suitcases

When I positioned myself in the middle in the back between the two car seats for the 12km run back to drop me off at the office I thought of the old Mitsubishi Canter TV ad - Not so Squeezy
    Cheers, Dale

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Scared the crap out of myself. I was playing with my new iid and I thought that I’d activate DRL as I’m quite into safety and thought it’d be a good thing. I turned on Scandinavian DRL, and after the car reset the BCU I got this on the dash.

Thought that I’d better have breakfast before I play around any more and have time to think. I reset it back to no DRL and all is good - except that one of the key fobs has a flat battery. Coincidence or just the car’s way of saying ‘don’t screw with me’?

Hitched the camper and had a leisurely run 230km down the coast to Tumby Bay.

Set up at TBCP (lovely spot, right on the bay) and headed off to sign in for the Tumby Rifle Club OPM.

Here’s hoping it’s tight groups for the weekend What happened to your D3/D4 today?

you can activate the DRL using the below procedure bizarrely convoluted procedure (similar to turning off the seat belt alarm by plugging it in and out 8 times when the moon is full and the tide is half) without the stress of potentially bricking the car!

    • Make sure the vehicle's ignition is switched off, and the lighting switch is in the Off position (1).
    • Switch the vehicle's ignition on.
    • Turn the lighting switch to the Low beam headlamps on position (3).
    • Turn the lighting switch back to the Off position (1).
    • Press and hold the rear fog lamp switch (8) for more than 2 seconds.
    • Release the rear fog lamp switch.
    • Turn the lighting switch to the Low beam headlamps on position (3).
    • Turn the lighting switch back to the Off position (1).
    • Turn the vehicle's ignition off.

Managed to distract myself from the electrical issue we've been having that turns off the aircon - trim on the drivers A pillar decided to come apart at 100kph!

Didnt enjoy the 45 min drive home with the window down holding onto the frame in case it came all the way off.

Will be hunting down new clips to replace the (remaining) old ones. I assume the trim needs to be removable to change out the windscreen so dont think I could just seal it on...

    Blown brake globe.

Constable plod pulled me over today to tell me my driver brake light was not working. We discussed it and after he checked there were no warning lights on the dash, he sent me on my way.
After all that I've read about blown brake lights causing all sorts of errors, I'm surprised the D3 was even working!!!!!
New Narva globe fitted this morning, and all is well.
Mr plod was more into talking about the merits, or otherwise, of Jeep Wranglers versus Discoveries, so we had a very amiable chat.

I would really like to know where people get these routines to turn stuff on/off. Is there one source for all these little tricks and tips?

this one is in the owner info online Land Rover Owner Information

others, like the seat belt warning (I suspect due to market/legal requirements), are just found in the collective knowledge of the internets.

I'm more interested in who comes up with such bizarre procedures!
