A small drive this weekend.
Whyalla to Adelaide (400km) towing a 10x6 cage to pick up some gear from a motorcycle mate.
30 min there and then off to Waikerie (165km) to see the Speedway car in action that we sponsor.
Digger was there, so at 2am it’s back to Diggers place for a BS session until 5:45 this morning.
Hit the hay and up again at 08:00 for the run home via Morgan, Burra and Port Pirie (stop at another forum members place for coffee) before the run back to Whyalla.
Total kilometers covered was just shy of 1200 all said and done.
Vehicle didn’t skip a beat, didn’t know the trailer was back there.

Lowered only the front of the bash plate, cannot get arm in there so here’s what I did.
Grabbed a piece of timber - approx 45x12x600mm
Took some grease, and placed it on one corner.
Reached in the front with the timber - touching the bolt with the wood before lowering it to touch the bash plate - leaving a grease “dot” on the plate.
Lifted the wood back up off the plate and retracted it.
Removed the plate.
Allowing for the centre point being slightly back from the edge I then proceeded to drill a hole with a 32mm hole saw.
A quick tidy up with the finger sander and the plate was reinstalled.
Job done!
Put the bullbar on today. Well, when I say ‘put it on’ I mean there’s still a couple of things to do, like tow hook cover and a couple of minor things. But overall it’s mounted and safe so I can drive it to the Indy tomorrow for a wheel alignment and getting the new tyres put on. I still need to stock on the ‘Land Rover’ words on the front bar. It’s a genuine front protection bar that I’ve powder coated in Matt textured black.
