They state so on the bottle. I would assume it leaves a staining thats visible.

This is in their FAQ on this link: Wheel Protector

Q: What type of wheels is Wheel Protector suitable for?
A: Wheel Protector is suitable to use on Split Rims, Diamond Cut, Refurbished, Multispoke, Anodised and unlacquered wheels. Wheel Protector is not suitable for any wheels that are Black, dark in colour or have a mirrored finish.
Q: Why is Wheel Protector not suitable for black, dark or mirror finished wheels?
A: The finish will not be acceptable. It will leave an uneven oily looking film. We would recommend that you could use High Definition Wax, Extra Gloss Protection, Super Resin Polish or Instant Show Shine, they do not have the super hydrophobic quality of Wheel Protector but would protect them and make future cleans easier.

Im sure I wont notice the difference - my Disco hasnt had a wash for at least 3 or 4 months (I cant remember the last time it got a wash). From memory its only had 2 baths this year. I have noticed the extra pedal required to stop over the old bendix pads already

    Made our D4 smell nice

    Hi all

Last weekend Jill and I cleaned out the Disco 4 and filled it so it now smells nice. Eight small squares of fresh, sweet, Bylong Valley lucerne.

I've kept the old one - which is in great condition otherwise, and will replace the diodes and shelve it for when this one eventually fails.
The burning smell is the insulation on the field windings burning so its unfit for rebuilding except as a short term replacement if the windings haven't shorted. They burn because the diodes reverse-conduct, unlike old times when diodes just went open circuit so fitting a new diode pack was worthwhile.

The D4’s maiden of road voyage. Although I’m not too sure how proud I should be when I’ve parked next to a Toyota Prius!

Yes but you have to crawl before you can walk.

    The fun is just beginning!

Agreed. I got a shock when I put it in sand mode. I couldn’t believe how responsive the accelerator is compared to normal mode. Makes me want to remap it even more now

Headed south for the holidays from Hedland via Wyatt's in Gero to get my gearbox flushed. Also did a service. While I was there, they fixed my rear aircon! Which, apparently had never been connected since new lol. I only mentioned it on the phone when I booked in. Great guys there, mentioned a few other small jobs due. I'll be back again next year to sort them out. Had a good chat with Shane, to the annoyance of SWMBO!

New front rotors and pads and new rear pads today on the D3.

Gee that front wear sensor is a mongrel to get at.
