Leaving a door open does not stop the suspension self levelling/adjusting - urban myth.

Leaving the door open stops you moving the vehicle from say onroad to off road height etc - but not the self levelling function.

The car will still self level with a door open.
I played with the EAS today and I think I see what you're saying, so it might be safer to initiate a height change, then quickly open a door before removing the Johnson, Greenoval, etc, rod as hopefully the car will be between settings and won't know which to level to, I don't have rods to experiment with.

Opening a door before selecting a change of height will prevent the height change. However any suspension fault that triggers lowering to the bump-stops (eg 2 height sensor signals considered invalid) could still cause deflation of the air-springs. The only way to guarantee that the suspension won't be lowered is to remove the main suspension fuse (15A some vehicles, 20A others) as the power to operate the valves is provided by this fuse.

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Coolant bottle has developed this dark scum like staining in recent weeks. Coolant was changed in last 12 months and looks good. Feeling with finger doesn’t feel oily or greasy.

The EGR cooler can be completely removed and blank, if the ecu is reprogrammed appropriately and then the problem never reoccurs What happened to your D3/D4 today?

The D4 in its natural habitat during a 8 day camping trip with our 14 & 11yo princesses to Hiltaba Station (a nature reserve, north west of the Gawler Ranges SA). A bonus point if you spotted the UHF antenna differences. I discovered very quickly that a 2m fibreglass is too long for 4wd’ing and I forgot to bring the stumpy one along

Be careful,as it will probably stop working,as mine did with the van on.

Not a nice position to be in.My issue was a shagged switch,it brought up codes but i can't remember what they were.

Not the easiest part to replace either,if yu haven't done one before.
