When I changed mine it is the same. Metal part then back to rubber again.

And did you delete the hose connections or just jump bypass the coolers? That makes the heater connection easy except the coolant is doing a needless loop around the engine.

Coolers are still plumbed into cooling system. Just blanked at both ends where the pipes ran to the intake.

I intend to do something about the rest but haven’t got there yet.

Friday the D3 gets a new passenger side rear wheel bearing.

Front passenger side was done 4 years back. Wonder if these increased load on that side? Road camber / shoulder?

    Hey lowrange
Did you do it yourself or get a Indy to do it for you. And was it the 2.7 or the 3 litre.

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Discovered you can program the 3rd button on the D3 key fob (the one with the Land Rover logo). Can be set up to do one of four things - trigger panic alarm, turn on “follow me home” headlights, raise/lower suspension, or release rear upper tailgate.

So I programmed it to let me use the fob to raise or lower the suspension. Neat little party trick - not sure when I would use this but cool it can be done.

New passenger side wheel bearing replaced on Friday but also the coolant expansion tank as that had started leaking. It was only about 5 or 6 years old.

The loud noise I had been experiencing for last couple of years turns out to be that bearing! I had thought it was front diff and the LR indie had thought that too at first till he had it on the hoise and could listen to it from a closer perspective.

Other rear drivers side bearing most like will need to be done soon. Small noise noticeable over 9 hours of driving on Saturday, book it in Eddie!

    - 4 new air struts
    - new tie rods and rod ends
    - wheel alignment
    - 4 new Pirelli Scorpion Zero tyres
    - rear wheel bearing
    - coolant tank
The D3 is driving nicely again and I once more have my happy LR smile, as happy as a single 59 years can get anyway hahah

I programmed mine ages ago to put headlights on, its a great way to find the vehicle in a parking lot or when you are trying to put the key in the lock in the garage.

Look at the tyre wear pattern. Front Passenger side scrubs out first. Tyre rotation is a good idea.
