    drawers

    1. my spray on adhesive coming undone, will need a top up. may get the normal can adhesive and apply on both surfaces the spray adhesive seems a little funny. had to peel away some carpet to cut down the two drawer faces side (one side only each) as i forgot to account for the carpet thickness. done now

    2. drawer with pretend fronts on looking good, did go to bunnings and have the sides for the two drawers cut to length ready to go once i get the sliders for measurements

    3. rear end not glues down only the top, need to see where is the best to connect the two carpets together. Bunnings had sold out of black carpet and could only get 1m lengths pre cut. I also sprayed black paint in corners so where the two carpets join you don't see any exposed timber just as precaution.

Spray on adhesive is terrible stuff. It has too much thinner in it (probably to make it spray) and never sets properly. Head to the tiling/outdoor flooring section and find the Astro turf glue. It sticks like hell and only smells for about 3 days. I applied it with a big plastic carpet glue comb and used the exact same carpet you’re using. I could run the carpet around a corner with wet glue and it stayed stuck.

Thanks. mmmm...maybe. I would expect a fault if detached. Will have a look in the workshop manual.

    Tyre rotation

Got the tyres rotated. 15,000 km on the KO2s so booked in to the tyre service centre in Mossman on the way back from the Cape. Got the wheels aligned as well. I was expecting a rotation of front to opposite rear, but was told that is only done rarely (despite what the tyre companies recommend)...they recommended a rotation of front to back and keeping the tyres on the same side (like they do for directional winter tyres).....supposedly because of steel belt memory. Also, advised not to bring the new spare into the rotation. Any thoughts, theories?

also had to do the usual “after service fix up” of tyre pressures and torque settings on the stud nuts as they were all over the place despite assurances.

I’ll get it on the highway and get more footage.

    Hi Mike / Tombie

Did you post a write up on what lights / setup you’re running here?
Looks awesome, so am interested in the setup.

    Cheers

    Lockdown Duties

It took the wife 4.5km to the nearest Woolworths, where she undertook one of the five permissible activities allowing us to leave home. After said shopping she returned retracing the 4.5km.

Meanwhile I mowed, whipper snipped, spread lawn fertiliser, dug holes, planted tress, transplanted trees...

    LHS grommet under glovebox?

I think/know I've read it somewhere before, but can one or more of the gurus confirm there is a grommet on the front passengers side that an aerial wire can be fitted through into the cab from the engine bay - ideally towards car centre/transmission tunnel and under the lower glovebox?

I wouldn’t touch it - it has the main loom in it.
