The roads around Finke and Mt Dare are some of the worse corrugations I have ever seen.
And the road from Alice to Finke is just as bad.

I replaced the useless cigarette lighter socket for the 2nd row with a double Quick Charge 3 socket - happy teenage daughter! Some careful work with Dremel and step drill kept the factory cover functional, so it's not too obtrusive, and now various electronics can take a good charge easily in the back...

Of interest, does anyone know of any 'nice' QC3 or PD outlets that wouldn't offend in the. front centre console? Something discrete/brushed or knurled aluminium look? This one's fine and practical, but once in place it confirms my opinion that it would look 'clunky' up front, permanently in my eyeline...
I may well put an Anderson next to it for fridge/compressor games - it'll be neatly hidden unless required. Just have to think about running some heavy duty cable through the floor console to it...
Did the same in mine, including same unit, about 8 months ago.
I’m looking at these for up front

I've got the exact same one, but just think its a little too intrusive. I'm probably going to use it inside the centre binnacle for things like cameras and other toys... I want something more like these to look a little more OEM next to the 4wd control panel:

I'm wondering about some hot 3d printer action for the surround, and bastardizing one of the fleabay ones for the electronics... My vision is a portrait orientation of the above, in a rectangular mount mirroring the square frame for the 4wd selection unit, in a new hole cut around the current lighter hole...Something where I've drawn the yellow rectangle here...

Picked my D4 up last night. ‘A’ service, front and rear belts, water pump, coolant, passenger side manifold and finally MAF sensor which actually packed it in when I was on the way to my indy to drop it in.
The car was already in and out of Restricted Performance mode due to the cracked manifold but then for the second half of the trip started chugging a bit.
Once they’d fitted the new manifold etc. and put it all back together, second turbo wouldn’t activate. It was intermittent too so took some time to investigate. When he called me with the news that it could possibly be the turbo itself I almost cried.
He found that he could manually activate it so started searching elsewhere. Thankfully first drive it threw a fault code pointing to the MAF sensor. A few more hundred $ and a new sensor later, runs like a dream.
Everything is easy when someone else is doing it
