Dreaded restricted performance warning popped up today. Went away on restart and hasn’t popped up again yet…
I suspect the inlet manifold on the side I haven’t had replaced yet but haven’t had the heart to read the error code/s yet. A job for tomorrow

SubscriberAll good… running for now, locked in std height.
Picked this up today and dropped in. Fits like a glove.
Also picked up my ARB Linx system and the gear to do my stereo upgrade has arrived.

New RRS booster fitted and have brakes again. As the ShaneShed video shows you can safely flex the ABS unit and master cylinder well out of the way to change out the booster quite easily without having to spill a drop or bleed brakes as the workshop manual suggests.
The old booster had definitely failed and shows evidence of oil inside but was by no means carrying a lot of oil.
Removed and checked the vacuum lines and they were almost squeaky clean and NRV function is perfect. I didn’t touch the pump as with engine running and pipe disconnected there was heaps of suction.
Since the vacuum pump sucks the only logical explanation is that oil vapour sneaks past the NRV with engine off. It’s hard to imagine otherwise how oil gets in there.

Super ModeratorI know these days replacement parts are often "pretty affordable", but as an FYI, but I've had these guys rebuild "unobtanium" boosters for me along with rare and old master and wheel cylinders : Home - Perth Brake Parts
Haven't used them for Disco parts yet however.

SupporterThere was an update somewhere along the way that changed the plumbing back to the vac pump, with a one way valve (nrv).
It was supposed to stop oil migration, it doesn't as far as I've experienced, and yes, oil must get sucked back from the pump with the engine off, and you don't need much oil in one to wreck it.
