Super ModeratorSitting down last night contemplating the spectacular surroundings my wife said "why don't you have a look at the dashcam and see if you can get some more detail". So I did, and pinpointed the location of the incident. Today we back-tracked ~65Km and there on the side of the road surrounded by duck down (the foxes probably did a job on the carcass last night) was the pretty much undamaged escutcheon, so I'm very pleased. The bit that broke off the headlight washer isn't structural and once I picked all the duck feathers out from around it I think I got off lightly.

Installed a Camping Mode Switch that intercepts the Door Ajar signal from the Rear Right Hand Door. This allows me to open doors when camping without setting off the pre-ignition program.
The switch is just a latching switch that is normally set to "On" so that the door operates normally. When switched to "Off", it sends a "Rear RH Door Ajar" signal to the Body Control Module so that the opening of any door does not set off the pre-ignition cycle.
The wire to intercept is PLG (Pink with a Light Green trace).
The graphic on the switch is meant to represent a tent!

Just finishing 5 night’s swagging out of car between Exmouth and Carnarvon. Of an afternoon with engine off every door gets opened a minimum of 10-20 times looking for clothing food water toothbrush hairbrush phone etc so I’ve given up on worrying on power up. Turn cabin light fully off and it starts every morning even after listening to half a game of footy on AM. (No second battery as we are a primitive ice family). Tailgate stays open most of the time depending wind / sand / flies.
Major stretch of soft beach sand this morning Oyster Bridge to Coral Bay at full power setting and needle stayed half so declaring cooling system fully commissioned!
