They are trying to sort this out with them and they are having the same problem. Very frustrating!! The dealer has been brilliant to be honest - it seems LRA has let us down. I actually spoke with another dealer, Bruce Lynton on the Gold Coast and they said they had never seen or heard of a rear entertainment package like this one and they had no manuals - every manual instruction that they gave me was for a wrong system too.

Everyone seems to think it is the system that is the "vogue" system which usually goes in the Range Rover.

It seems like LRA have got a shipment of these cars in with no instructions - full stop. The dealer has said agreed if the manual turns up and it does say that you can't play it back through the speaker system only he will wire it up for us so it is no longer an issue.

We got the rear entertainment package thrown in when we brought the car - apparently it is worth $4000+ - the jury's out on that one at the moment!

I will keep you posted so that if anyone else purchases the system they know what they will have to go through or do!!

BTW did you have a look at GTR:
 http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com

There are a couple of options there, also you can check the RRS manuals out as well.

 Cheers,

			 Thanks AP Thanks AP

We have looked at that site and the manual that is there for Rear Entertainment Package is for the previous system. It is also a manual for a touch screen system which we don't have with the new system.

Thanks for the suggestion though....back to the drawing board!

			Aftermarket GPS

Hello I fitted an aftermarket 7" gps from ebay and loaded it with Igo street software and OziExplorer CE. I have all the Raster Maps of Ausralia and all the Hema Desert Maps series on SD Card. This works great. We ahve just been to Lake Eyre via Tibooburra, Strezsleki and back up the Birdville and walkers corossin to innaminka. The unit is wired to the second battery and mounted on the dash. After 3000km of dirt roads all worked fantastically. All the cost was under $1000 andthe 7" screen also has AV input for a reversing camera. I got an external camera from ebay for $65 with wiring and mounted it below the rear high mounted brake light. Again all works fine. By the way I have a 05 Disco 3 S model with raised coils, dual batteries and ARB steel bar. I fitte Rhino track to the roof and have three bars that I mount mu rack to when travelling.

The Ending To The Story... The Ending To The Story...

Well the final consensus is that this you beaut $4,000AUD system can only be played back through headsets (that aren't even wireless AND we only got two with the car). The big problem is that every time you open the door the headsets fall out onto the road - they don't like that very much!!

We can get it to play back through the speakers if we purchase the additional $4,000AUD Sat Nav/Bluetooth system.

A suggestion was to get a cord with a male plug each end and connect it through the door jack and the console auxilary but again - just a short term solution which won't work because how long before you forget and open the door and rip a plug or socket out?

The dealer has kindly offered to hardwire it for us but it means that we lose one auxilary point in the back - not an issue for us but could be for other people.

So there you go - this is just a thought for people who have purchased or about to receive the last of the new Disco 3's. We notice that Disco 4 literature actually states that the stereo plays back both through headsets and the car sound system.

A tip for all the young players out there!

 Thanks!

I recently had an Alpine drop down dvd fitted by Freeway Car audio in Malvern.
Two cordless headsets supplied with stunning sound.
Car has been wired to be able to plug in thru aux which when played thru the hi ice sound system is fantastic.
 Picture is fantastic.
 Top notch installation looks great.
They picked up & delivered the car to & from the dealer prior to me picking it up.
Paid by phone they posted receipt.
Significantly less than half of $4000.00.
 Would highly recomend.
They have pictures of Landrover installations on their website.
The dvd player is incorporated in the unit & playstations & the like can be incorporated.
I did not really want one however my wife insisted for our grandaughter.
I now would consider it money well spent.

 Regards

 Chuck

We've had a couple of portable units for 3 years now and they have been the difference between a relaxing drive and the drive from hell on many a long trip. The 2 units between the 3 kids works pretty well. Nearly at the stage where we might complete the set
It would be neater to have integrated units but we also find the units get a good workout outside the car as well. The headphones are wired but that works for us so we can still listen to a CD or the radio.

I went the Kenwood option like powella. Its brilliant and screen is 7 inch and flush fitted where the factory screen goes. Cost was $3500 from Strathfield; Nav is Garmin (Kenwood); SD card allows TOPO etc. You end up with:

 Reverse camera
 iPOD
 Sat Nav
 Bluetooth
 DVD
 TV optional

all connected to original radio and CD

 Highly recommended.
