Within LR, there are similarities between all Rangies and between the Discoverys. I expect all the Defenders will have a similar brand image. McGovern says the Defenders image will be 'durable', whatever that means.

I'm also very interested in the spinoff models like the svx, povo pack and maybe even rumoured utilitarian version.

The SVX Discovery should have been here by now, does anyone know what the hold up is? Will be interesting to see how that does off road.

AULRO is the only online media I participate in as it’ relatively specific and not full of manipulative algorithms. I don’t follow any other social media.

You and I both share the same social media usage it seems, I don't have insty or facebook accounts, however I do google the occasional workshop facebook page to see if they are any good which is very helpful. I get your frustration with it all.

That could change slightly for new Defender buyers.

I'm no marketing guru but perhaps its like Subaru and the boxer with AWD. Market differentiator. If LR made their cars softroaders would they be any different to the X5 or GLE (although you can get a off road pack for the GLE).

I would say offroad capability is one if thier main point of difference's from the fake 4x4s, they can actually go offroad properly, they are generally most capable in class..900mm wading for RRV and i think 600mm still for RRE from factory with no snorkel.
