One of my sons done social media marketing for a living. It's a big deal.
My views on Land Rovers have nothing to do with social media. They are based on personal experience and observation. I don’t believe the hype. I look at an image or a text and make my own judgement.

AULRO is the only online media I participate in as it’ relatively specific and not full of manipulative algorithms. I don’t follow any other social media.

100% agree, There are negative comments about upcoming LR products which ofcourse is fine(everyone's entitled to an opinion), however when people start bashing the whole of JLR and all of their current model lineup and then have the hide to say their marketers have no idea when they clearly do, enough is enough, One begins to think ulterior motives are at play.

Give JLR a fair go, they gave us the defender, its great but far from perfect, they make an incredible array of popular and very capable SUVs now, they still support the current defender staying around 100% and are bringing out a new model of which was 100% unavoidable from financial and legal standpoint, needs to be safer, needs to be electric before ICE are outlawed.

Considering everything and knowing what we know so far, IMO we are going to get the absolute best possible scenario JLR can provide us with the New defender looking at it from a Commercial, Legal and keeping the majority of buyers happy standpoint.

In so many ways the new defender will be far better than the old Defender and at the same time the new Defender in many ways won't be as good as the old Defender.

The great thing is now we have multiple choices when buying a defender an old school Bare Bones model for those that really need it(the earth is full of them). And a new model with new technology upgraded safety, capability and comfort for those that want durability safety and comfort.

I honestly cant wait to see what JLR has in store for us with the new Defender and especislly what the SVO team can come up with when they do an SVX model!

A perfect example of social media marketing nonsense.

A different but also perfect example of social media marketing nonsense. Maybe you work for JLR?

IMO a big mistake, each model should look different,as they always did.

I am sure the buyer of a $265K plus vehicle won't be happy if it looks very similar to another vehicle of the same brand that is half the price.

And yes they are definitely targeting the same type of market.
Land Rover marketers did this on purpose to align the models under the brand, so that all models are instantly recognisable as a Land Rover ( a little more tasteful them putting a massive 1.5 m wide Toyota sign on the back of a Hilux)

Whilst I agree most on the front of the current Land Rover SUV line up have similarities, imo they have never looked better especially the new Evoque Range Rover Vogue and Range Rover Sport ( those dark LED lights are hot)

At the same time I would say a discerning buyer whom Land Rover targets would know the difference between an Evoque and a Range Rover Vogue or a Velar and a disco 5.

Whilst their grills are similar they are all fundamentally different cars for different buyers and end uses.

One things for sure, Land Rover still has a huge focus on capability and their quality of build has increased massively.

Not nonsense, he is simply saying when you look at the new Land Rover Defender you'll get a sense that the vehicle is durable. At the same time he is using marketing to say that the new defender will be durable.

From memory I think the three lines of vehicles they are focusing on luxury leisure and dual purpose.

Understand that you think marketing and hype and social media is rubbish but this is what car makers use to sell vehicles and if they didn't do it there would be no defender old or new.

You got me, no I actually like land rovers and have a 93 LSE RRC built by Andrew, Paul and the team at LRA.

    Zero association with JLR

I'm passionate about the brand, and have a long history on this forum.

Ive had 4 RRC's and loved them, When people bag out the brand as a whole, ill stick up for it, that's for sure!
