I believe there was a post on here where someone says their mate spotted one in regional AU. Maybe someone can dig it up?

Btw. My arse has stood the test of time for much longer than my olde worlde D1.
If your expecting perfection mate, your not going to find it, D1 is an awesome 4x4

Sorry, yes I corrected my auto-correct error.
One question I have is if JLR uses a hot weather clear coat over the paint, as northern hemisphere clear coats don't seem to last that well in hot climates. For example, D1 and D2 roofs frequently have failed clear coat.
If the new Defender is to be truly durable it needs a quality clear coat, I think. Do you agree?

Dontcha know ?.... the New Defender is available with the optional Radiance Repeller, a special fabric deployed from the front bumper over the entire length of the vehicle automatically at the first onset of photons. Can also be used in extended mode as a parachute for when driving out of a C-130 Hercules.

Of course, if the new Defender isn't up to scratch, we could always order the new Bugatti instead, which just sold for a mere $27m.

Not that awesome apparently blackie, all I could manage as a trade-in was a grand & up from 750 after a hard haggle.

It hurt a bit 'cos I paid 45,000 when new in '95. I must have needed a bloody good shrink. 12 month Warranty.

Tdi was 2 grand extra, two more doors 2 grand, & air bags, yep you guessed it, another 2 grand. so I didn't choose any of that stuff.

My new Mazda CX-3 Maxx Sport has got 5 years Warrany & cost half as much as then, but I reckon she'll be a bit **** offroad.

100% i think paint has come along way since the D1,D2 days 20years of experience.

Then again how long did they take to fade? And what maintenance do people actually do to the paint on disco roofs?
