Erich, Andrew, in keeping with the white theme why not fit Puma front indicators and side lamps (both are clear lens, orange bulb). The orange bulbs are readily available (Tojo's use them too).

Did you get the wing top vents off Karcraft too? I've been after some but the are sooooo expensive even in the UK
The lights are the same lens as the park lights it's only the bulb holder that is different as the orange bulbs are stepped bayonet. That doesn't help for the side lamps though.

I wish i had more time. I would love to fit a VG30 nissan turbo aswell....
I hope i get enough time for the 3 inch exhust and a few other finishing touches, but there is so much work left.....
It will be re-chipped. We have scourced a flashable ECU (the origional 2001 one wasnt).
Atleast it is all starting to come together. Tuesday with any luck we will go over the weighbridge, then the suspension will be ordered to suit.
No they came from a friend who imported them from the UK. They are not called LRX anymore, they are called KBX
Andy
John the vehicle will appreciate it! It really is an understatement but vehicles up here get a real pounding even in what would be considered general use.
The first town this vehicle will see is 200km by dirt. Going the other way to Katherine is 500km of dirt before the black stuff so believe me a couple of wise men have put their heads and hands together for this one.
Cheers, Dale

It's coming along very well! Great job! Has been a great build up to follow - I've learnt a bit...looking forward (as I'm sure you are) to seeing it finished.

Another job ticked off.
Dual batteries installed. We used a marine change over switch with a continuous rating of 350 amps. I used the same switch in my own Defender and have winched a lot with no problems. I prefer these to the voltage sensing devices, however there is a degree of discipline required to turn off a battery when camping for a few days.
We added 2 extra cables, one for the winch, 50sq mm and one for the auxilliary fuses 16sq mm. The switch terminals were not long enough to cater for all the cables so we added a lug / bolt junction at the top of the batteries, as can be seen on the pic below. The switch was installed at the front of the battery box with the knob protruding through. The batteries can be isolated from the passengers side front. Batteries are clamped down with the original bracket. Timber spacers stop the batteries from pinching the cables which protrude through the side of the battery box.
.
All insulated, taped and covered with rubber insertion. A rubber insertion sheet will cover the top of both batteries.
Erich.
