We have used a high quality 2-pack paint with 3 layers of 2 pack clear, so hopefully it won't stain as quickly as standard paint.

Just not enough time to contemplate a colour change.

Yes I remember you mentioning this earlier in this thread. It's not going to stop me referring to white as Toyota Camouflage Paint again either

Andrew apart from being in the mail, where will you actually mount the reversing camera when you get it

    No new pictures today.

We installed the front flares, rock sliders, tray roof, re-bushed the panard rod, bolted in the drivers sill fuel tank and a lot of odds and sods
We also took the vehicle over the weigh bridge for front and rear weights so we can order the correct springs.

Will try to get some more pics tomorrow.

This also arrived by courier yesterday. We roughly inslalled the screen in my own Defender to make sure there was no vision restriction and also no glare or distraction. Hopefully we will install this shortly. We have gone for a rear vision unit due to the restricted visability with standard mirrors.

Next step the tray has to come off again for rust proofing and painting / sound deadener underneath and as has been the case a bit lately, when we need to paint, the rain comes.

The camera can't really be installed until the tray is pained.

The rear cover is comong along very well.

What a fantastic project....you folks should be very proud of yourselves and deservedly so.

And still it goes on! Is there nothing you can't do???

No doubt about it, you are all to be congratulated for such a terrific effort and great result.

    Cheers

Thanks for your comments, but there is plenty we can't do. But when it comes to Land Rovers, we will attempt most things. This isn't our first re-build, but it is the quickest and quite challenging.

[QUOTE=PaulP38a;1105433]Where is the reversing camera?... it would be a handy addition in a truck that size...

Then again, where this truck is going reverse parking probably isn't much of a problem

...LOL ...Any sort of parking certainly isn't a problem up there.

But the camera will be handy on family camping trips just to make sure there are no children or dogs etc. behind the car.

Some pics were taken in the dark - we will take some more during daylight hours

Photo showing the front guard extensions

Andrew has been working on the rear roof rack and it is coming up well.

We were donated a Safari Snorkel from a damaged car - needs a fair bit of work but should come up OK

A cut in the plastic near the bracket has been Sikaflexed back onto position. This will never move - stronger than the original material

Also worked on the fuel tank installation - installed the transfer pump and tank breathers.
