I saw that vehicle on Pickles site, glad it went to a good homeAnother one lives on!
Good work!

99% of the vehicle's use will be within 200kms from home with some camping gear, the fridge and 2 dogs on the back. There will also be the occasional trip into Darwin. If the back if too cluttered there will be a second spare on the roof rack on a special holder.

I am positioning the spare at the very rear of the pocket, so if it is fully packed, you dont have to remove much gear.
Theres also the 2nd spare on the alloy wheel on the roof.
Gee your quicker than us justin, it only sold on ebay yesteday.
1998 Land Rover Defender 130 TDI M DUAL CAB CHASSIS - eBay, Passenger Vehicles, Cars, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 26-Sep-09 12:13:07 AEST)
1 day to ship from wa to tas, AND put a tray on!
Andy
OOps, looks identical to one bought out of WA a few months ago by one of my customers, same rear springs, shocks, fuel pipe tied up the same way, even the extension to the exhaust looked the same. The one I am thinking of only had 17K on the clock, 1998 300Tdi, interior is immaculate for a fire truck!
A good bargain

I spent more than half the day shopping for bits and pieces for paint prep bits, and most of the rest of the day doing real work -
Steel for the tray, side steps and scrub guards
A set of 5 wheels 16 x 8 thanks to a stall at the event on Sunday - at $45 each quite a good deal we thought. These will have to be altered - centers moved or flipped to improve the turning circle. The one on the roof will be an alloy wheel.
Did manage to prepare the passengers front door for hifill
Also stripped down and straightened the damaged drivers door. Also welded up the cracked section adjacent to the door lock button where they always break.
Andrew is still working on the tray - I called it quits about an hour ago.
Erich
Not at all!!!
Erich is MUCH better looking
(BTW...who's Neil Mitchell???)

29th September - 1 week after the car was delivered.
Both front doors and front guards straightened, filled, hifilled, proof coated. More work required on the doors before paint and clearcoat.
Most have now been rubbed back with 180 paper at this stage - will go to 600 grit. The final paint colour will be the original white using the 2k system with a clearcoat.
Sheila picked up the tyres

Andrew took the wheels in to have the centers reversed and offset, to improve the turning circle. Should ready on Friday.
Lots more work done on the tub
Looking for a snorkel?
