As I have commented before - it was built as a workhorse, not a show pony!

1 went to a local specialist auto car paint shop and secured this paint of silver 4L
2-3 went about painting the chassis, paint was quite thin and runny so decided against using thinners, but had lots of problems with my compressor hose which started playing up, then there was no air to the spray gun, got it going again but didn't want to use another spray gun which i have plenty of but they have diff connectors to the hose. finally added thinner and sprayed a little better but think the gun must be clogged up inside. took ages and the paint was spitting out so before i go further for the upside of the chassis will give the hose and gun a thorough cleaning to ensure all is good before painting again.
next will be to turn the chassis over and paint the top side, paint is not to bad, couple of runs which i will sand back and respray.
Land Rover
1 chassis flipped and painted, all done except rear crossmember which needs some more welding to be done later
2 battery tray modified as found on vehicle loosely fitted
3 engine mounts are defender or 110 ones so slightly larger and does not fit well for the engine, will need to modify to suit, cant see well in this pic
4 clutch reservoir i think fitted
5 bump stops x4 all fitted loosely along with strap brackets, just need to purchase some straps for the rear diff
6 exhaust mounts x2 for the rear fitted loosely again, making sure i have the necessary bolts
finally feels like some progress is being made...
Land Rover
1 I needed some rubber buffers between the tub and chassis and found some lengths of rubber suitable and cut to measure
2 all completed for the rear tub and ready for install perhaps...
3 front bumper bolts found and secured ready for the bumper
4 loosely bolted in the firewall supports
5 tub brackets found secured into place with bolts again loosely
6 tub front bolts in position
just makes installing the tub so much faster and easier when all correct bolts nuts ready to go...
