i picked up the engine parts yesterday.One of the crankshafts is too far gone according to the guy but the other would just need building up and grinding.
the pistons that came out of the engine were 20thou over how much more can i go?
is there anywhere that you can still buy crankshafts?
itd be emailing alex {series one shop in victoria} he had one on ebay a while back,nos as well ..havent seen one on his store site latley though but that means little Series 1 Land Rover Parts
I thought I saw one on there too but had a look today and couldnt see any. I am hoping to get one from the UK

they are 80" guards for lights in the firewall models.
They could have been put on for looks but I would imagine strength as it does make them quite strong especially if you need to stand on them.
They are in really good condition but I have some that are in perfect condition so I thought I would get started on these just to have a spare pair for the sake of it.
I was not sure if I was going to cover up the holes or put the strips back on and paint them all the same colour or make the strips look galvanised
