Stoped in at the engine rebuilders today while i was out to ask about the 202 black head . He told me they are the same BUT they would still need to be reconditioned to use unleaded or gas ...BUT again i still recon the later ones where unleaded..
I got a price to reco them for unleaded or gas i nearly fell over $600 to $700 each..
To me thats a hell of a lot of addetive & i recon it would take a good few years to regain that amount of money..

I do know there used to be a kit you could buy for the addetive you would set it up under the bonnet & somehow it went to the carby & had a bottle of addetive in a craddle so it would be delivered to the engine when in use there for when the bottle ran out you could just change the bottle for a new full one which is a LTR bottle i think from memery..

The last time i had seen one of these was at super cheap autos so will call in there see if they still have them & how they work & set up, still gotta be cheaper then a reco head & wouldnt have to add the addetive so much would just have to keep an eye on the bottle which is ok as i check the oil & coolant every couple of weeks so to me this would be easier then remembering to add it at the servo..

Was looking around & can get holden V6 complete cheaper than a head reco would only need to make an adapter ring ...

Yes the black head is a straight bolt on job just some have a air port in the chamber that needs to be blocked with a grub screw..I'm still going to look more into it tho..

    G'day Banjo,
Are you sure you really need an additive? All of the engines I have seen which are running on ULP have survived without needing new seats etc.

I have the thing you are looking for in my shed; you can have it for nix if you pay the postage. It is brand new and came with the gas installation for my Disco. I think it is called Lubemaster or something similar.

I will be away for a couple of days; PM me if you are interested,

    Cheers Charlie

Well got out & did some to Harry today finished off the power steering thats all done now..
Cut the gearbox Xmember out & welded the plates on so now it bolts on .

    Some pics

This how i do the bolt in Xmember..Measure it then cut it out AFTER you cut & make the plates..

This what i do to attach the Xmember to.Plates slide into whats left on the chassis then i put the Xmember back in so i can mark the holes then drill them & weld nuts to the plate , slide it back into place & weld in & done..

Also got the front springs today pluss all the bushes & spring bushes & the U bolts for the front..

Back out there tomorrow & i'll drill the holes for the Xmember & finish it all off then have to get the old front bushes out of the chassis since bloody Dale didnt get them out while he was here..

Can't quite get my head around the cross-member mounts , so I'd love to see the finished arrangement.

Well i been out workin on Harry again this week was all good untill thursday..Had to get the old origanal type bushes out of the front no dramas done this so many times ..So did the drivers side first used my propane bottle torch to burn the center sleeve out use a screwdriver to belt some of the rubber out then cut threw the outer sleeve then made a second cut bout 10mil from first one then hit woth the coll chisel to bend up then just belt out sweet easy..Well you would think so i broke me hacksaw completely so found me little hand saw thingy that uses hacksaw blades well all good till i broke me blade to the point i had to get more out..YAY well ended up breaking all bar 1..Anyway finaly all done got it out sweet as..So moves on to the passenger one did the same thing burnt out middle but took a while to cut threw use hand thingy..Thought i was right threw with cut so made the next did that great now just whack with hammer big hammer & chisel great nothing Hmmmmmm so i keep belting & belting till it gives me the ****s so tapped the chisel in & then gave it an all mighty whack ..Well i seen STARS the bloody chisel flew out full tilt & got me square in the face mainly on me nose GREAT blood everywhere i thought i broke it for sure but no only broke the ceptim JOY..Was here on me own so got the bleeding under control with a couple of tissues jambed up me nose ..So went back to it only this time i thought dont let go just hang onto the chisel well i took full swing with the big sledge hammer & completely missed the chisel but not me hand that was it i gave up had enough for the day..

So back out there on friday to find the new polly bushed dont fit there to small hhmm i wonder if this chassis is a series 2 so gets new bushes yay great they fit..so moves onto the rear passengers side ok new bush fits straight in so goes to put drivers side in well no go to big ..Thats strange so goes & gets an origanal type out of the shed hhmmm dont fit the outer casing of bush is same size as the hole it goes in WTF!!! so gets the chisel out & hammer & gives it a whack well wen i took out bushes out it was orange polly bush BUT whoever did this didnt remove all the old bush before puting new one in..It still had the outer case of an origanal type still in it ....

YAY..well thats been my week..here are the picks i have of the work to date..

OH & YAY me nose had straightend & the swelling had gone down before AUS got here today thank god or i wouldnt of lived it down..

Geez Banjo, I gotta work in the morning! Stop making your thread so bloody interesting.

    Well done mate.

Paint it ORANGE AND BLACK with BLUE BITS. (Warning: I have absolutely no taste, and I'm probably colour blind too. )
