When I were wee lud, we had a MF35, and a Fordson Major that you started on kero and switched over to petrol when it got warm enough.
It took a while though because the radiator leaked and we ran a garden hose from the irrigation pump into the top of the rad. We'd adjust it so it would supply exactly what leaked out... dirt farmer tech!

I'll never forget the day when I was about twelve years old, slashing with the MF35 and it drove me straight into the river!! With a single stage clutch it didn't matter how hard you stood on the clutch, the centrifugal force of the slasher just kept driving it forward... nothing would stop it until it wound down. All was well in the end but Dad sure copped a rollocking from Mum on that one, and I learned to keep my wits about me when I was driving that tractor.

Replaced it with a MF135, I thought it was the biggest thing in the world...
