Started fitting the odd bit to the firewall in between jobs, (ok, instead of working ). The clutch and brake pedal boxes will have to come back off to fit the steering box, but... impatience. There is still a bucket load of bits a the electroplater, so I can't get too carried away yet.

Also, the brake pedal seems really high. Does someone have a measurement from the pedal to the footwell they can pass on?

    Cheers,

    Tim

    Hi Tim,
Brake pedal is normal. Its a different angle to the clutch pedal coz the brake pedal with the booster pushes straight forwards and the clutch pedal pushes backwards.

    Good job there.

Spent the day sorting through bits and pieces, and fitting a few more things. The parts/fasteners that are off getting plated are hindering me more than I thought it would :/

Got the wiper assembly all together, and gave the vent mesh(s) a quick blast with the bead blaster before riveting them back on.

Also spent about 400 years getting the loom through the plastic break out panel. Tip to the wise, put the wiper plug through first.

    Cheers,

You lot are mad, but I'll put the kettle on for when you get here

Tackled the loom, (and a few other bits), today. Mmmmm spaghetti...

Aside from the binnacle, most bits are plugged in to identify where they go.

Engine bay is starting to look a bit busy, but there isn't too much more to go in, aside from the air cleaner, inlet pipe, throttle, speedo cable, vac lines for the distributor and brake booster..... :/

    Cheers,

Just be aware Tim, that the bulkhead will need to be adjusted to fit, after you have fitted the tub so the door gaps line up and the doors close etc. U may need to space the bulkhead forwards to do this on the out rigger bolts then the two galv side strips under the doors and also the plates that bolt to the chassis that the bulkhead also bolts onto, to line things all up nicely.

Thanks Rod, I've left the bulkhead supports where they were after test fitting before painting, however as I'm replacing the doors this will no doubt be all wrong. I won't tighten up the steering column etc until the back of the car and doors are back on. I can see myself removing bits and pieces here an there because I've put it together in the wrong order!

    Cheers,
