wired up the light bar, then spent 30 minutes back tracking trying to work out why it wouldn't work, only to find i had been sold a 24 volt relay in a MARKED 12 VOLT packet.

I refuse to buy anything from REPCO any more. I purchases 2 sets of identical wheel bearings for my daughters car first set fitted ok, 2nd set inside diameter 1.2mm smaller. They exchanged without a murmer, but shouldn't of happened.
old saying, "you get what you pay for", in this case rubbish...

That's as clean as it's getting
I did a little bit more but to get it 100% clean would be difficult as I'd have to remove all the wiring, and pointless as it's just going to get dirty again. It is a Land Rover after all
Today I pulled my main battery out to charge, and started doing my turbo oil return line gasket, which involved removing the 2nd battery and most of the tray

Picked 'George' up from the workshop yesterday with a replacement front driveshaft. Latest theory is the old one siezed up and that's why a flange broke. New one certainly a big improvement as it doesn't clunk into gear so much now.
They also fixed an oil leak at the back of the engine with a new rocker cover gasket and cleaned up the engine, so now it should be easier to find the other oil leaks!
Rrear passenger blinker is still not working though, so I will be having a fiddle over the weekend, as I suspect its wiring, not just a blown bulb.
Still, we're back on the road for the GCLRO trip to Mt Barney tomorrow, so that's good.
At the moment battered old George with the peeling bonnet is actually looking better than the wife's Yaris, which has copped two scrapes in the last week, one my fault and the other not mine, so say no more.

Bought a 120ah amg battery and built a box with 3 cig lighter power points. Fitted a cable to run to the back of the 110 so I can charge the box off the main battery. Fitted the mulgo side rails and also a pair of single LED work lights to the roof rack so I have some lights when using the awning at night time.

Pretty much took me all day. Just waiting for the gullwing windows to arrive
and I think I 'll leave it at that for a while.

    Smile S3 Rebuild Problem Sorted

Finally sorted the alignment of motor and gearbox on my S3 rebuild. Helps when you have the mounting plates under the gearbox mounts on the right sides. Engine fan now doesn't hit radiator cowling.

Hmm, charged my main battery, removed my second one in order to get to the turbo oil return, changed the gasket on that, put all my batteries back in place and started painting my glues C pillar trim.
Then I noticed one of my indicators isn't working, so I'll have to check that out tomorrow.
    There's always something.
