    Smile Lots of stuff.

As I am setting up me truck ( 2000 130 dual cab)
I was busy running around in Melbourne 44 degree heat getting thing organised.
Today I changed plates to personalised and regoed in my name.
Went to TJM and ordered scrub bars and side steps.
Called into Boss Aluminium to pick their brain on making a customised tub to fit my current custom canopy.
Brought me under seat dual battery tray from Piranha and picked their brain also. The owner of piranha has a 1999 110. So of cause I asked question.
Later I dropped it off to get tinted windows. Oh how they need tinted windows.

Yesterday had 7" BFG mud terrains fitted.

If anyone has built up a 130 dual cab I'd love to know what any one has done or would never do again.!

This weekend it starts all over again. Snorkel air pump and roof rack gets picked up from ARB on Saturday.

    Defender Gull Wing Doors

Finely got round to fitting the gull wing doors to my Defender. It took me about six hours to do as I had to strip the lock that holds the NS seat in position and that slowed me down somewhat. Other than that it was very straight forward.
And it looks good I think. Already it's so much easier to get into the rear.

    Cheers,

    Nino.

    Tinted

Tinted windows done. I can't believe 3 places I called hadn't ever done a defender.
Is that normal? Tint a Car in Narre Warren got the job. He was proud of his work.
44degrees I picked it up, parked it out the front and headed inside for a beer.

Got the back corner of the workshop cleaned out

Busy times over in the shed, I needed to sort an accumulation of goodies and junk from the years of hoarding. At last I have got the back corner of the workshop cleaned out and repaired a set of shelves that had collapsed to boot.

Next thing is to make a rail way to run the heavy item's like engines in to the shed, I have in mind that type of rail that you see in a butchers shop for running the carcases out of the freezer.

But the first job after I pack away about a dozen containers of bolts, screws, etc, into the repaired shelving, is to complete my frame for a trolley system to slide gearboxes into position on the back of the engine with. I needed the work bench clear to weld the frame up so that it is true and that I hadn't seen that surface clean for yonks.

Can I ask what you paid for said tinting? After this week, I'm thinking of getting mine done. I'm thinking its the first time in my life I've wound up a window that's been down All day, and subsequently burnt my arm on it,,,, ouch

Absolutely nothing, apart from hand out tools and some advice,,,,

Couple of offspring decided to replace (my idea) the Classic's donut/rotoflex coupling.
Turned into a bit of a saga, but over two nights and a trip into one son's work-place with the prop shaft, it's all done and a test-drive shows much reduced vibration at around 100.
Old rubber was full of fine cracks from age, and large deeper one.

FYI, the genuine Rotoflex I'd bought came with the spigot=bearing thing and a full set of 6 bolts. 18mm head and stamped 8.8
Original nuts and bolts are 19mm and stamped 10.8 They went back in, at least for the fact that 19mm spanners are more common than 18mm

Setting up the kids to 'volunteer' them for the transfer-case replacement

Hoist/ Pit/ - Who needs such luxuries when one has sons determined to show the Old Man how things should be done.

I feel a twinge of guilt, manipulating them like that, - but I also feel the arthritis....which makes it All Better.

Thinking of being kind, getting them to replace the VC carrier only, the rear output shaft can be checked whilst the main box is still mounted. (have a spare BW, supposedly "good" )

My Little boy (6'+ tall and suitably 'cushioned'......) has a need to go beach-driving with his new g/friend, so the next few jobs *will* get done....

Another joy of Fatherhood, being devious -and getting away with it !
