Over the past few weeks. Fitted roof rack. Replaced power steering box. Brake pads on all four corners. LED indicators in the bull bar. New front wheel bearings. All it needs now is some decent tyres and its ready for roadworthy.
Assembled the roof rack. I didn't realise it was a couple of boxes of Meccano!
I'm impressed with the quality and design. I like that it's modular and you can add bits without the need for drilling. Also about 3" lower than my old one so I can park at work.
Also fitted LED strip lights to the inside of the Gullwing doors. They work so well. Really bright. I'm looking forward to going away at the end of the month to give it all a shake out.
I highly recommend the Gullwings and Roof Rack to anyone with a Defender.
Regards
Nino.

Found a break in the weather today to continue in the wheels for the D2...
Start with:

Rub back and prime:

And then paint (Satin Black):

And this is the result pre-clear coat:

And no, I didn't sand the gouges and fill before painting as I think they add character - and will likely be added to soon!

Call Ross Clothier at Ross Balancers Blacktown NSW. Good to see he's finished what we discussed some 5+ years ago. Wonder if he's done the V8 stuff?

Bugger all - the L322 still has a stuck injector, so I went to move the 101 and it has a flat battery...
Some days I wonder why I get out of bed....
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
I got out of bed because the disco needed to be taken out of shed and reversed in - i managed to accomplish this rather challenging exercise primarily because i have beer on tap in the shed, it was my intention once said landy was backed into shed to do stuff to it but i deferred to the beer on tap in stead…..
the brown part?
