Fixed the leak in my oil cooler hoses at the new radiator end. Then while under the car cleaning the spilled oil, I noticed the track rod was bent.

Wire brushed a couple of wheel nuts for a Disco steel rim and dropped them into a Copper Sulphate solution for about ten minutes to see what they would come out like.
Shiny Copper !
Now the next step is to paint over the copper with black Rust Guard and try them for a while on the road to see if the paint hangs on better.

Fitted a secondary transmission cooler to the d2a. Running now at a much better temp.
Found a dodgy fix to an aircon pipe from a previous owner. Which I should not have removed.
Reapplied the dodgy fix. Will get it degassed and see how it goes soon.

Took the Defender for a drive sheer ecstasy she purred along . However when the time came to disembark and get back in the cab well the chief complained bitterly that I had removed the side steps for renovation. Guess what Ive been instructed to fix tomorrow! But sure beats a shopping trip.

Bled the brakes on the series 3 today. Worked out fairly well. Got a good pedal the first time
. Still a bit spongey
. But it was only the first run through
. Ran out of time to finish it properly
. Did drive it out of the workshop where its been sitting atm. Booster works great. Smelled petrol, carby started flooding
so took the top off and cleaned it out. All good
. Cant beat the old holden motors for simple maintenance fixes
. Runs good for having been sitting for 15 years. Just gonna have to work out what seats to put in as PO cut all the brackets off the rails and removed the seat bumper stops from the top panel as well
.
Ahhh well. That's life.
Cheers Rod![]()
