Noticed the Phantom was only shining on one headlight, swapped it out and the rear LHS number plate light.
What a mess that was.
The plastic retaining piece for the metal arms that hold the light had broken on one side, so whoever fixed it simply applied a ****load of electrical tape, and left it there
Removed the electrical tape, bent the arms a bit so they'd stay on the retaining piece, cleaned the clear plastic and put a globe in.
Hey, it actually works :)
Might do the other headlight tomorrow, it's a tad dull.
It's more a PITA than a catastrophe. I'm attending a LROCV 4x4 course on Saturday and heading off on a trip down to SE Gippsland for a holiday the following weekend, so would be nice to have something to hook onto up front.
The point should look like this:

except I have received the version for the post-facelift d2 and the loop is offset in the opposite direction which means it fouls on the bumper.
The points have an additional plate with two threaded holes that is welded to the chassis. I've been able to unbolt the recovery point and refit the bumper without any drama's. After talking to BDPL it seems that they don't have the correct point in stock and they aren't sure when they'll be getting more made. Wish they'd told me that before taking my money.
Sorted a location for the 8530 head unit (HF).
Made up a couple of perspex mounts and moved the SVX "Travel Assistant" AKA Garmin Nuvi, routed the external antenna for, and installed my old Garmin GPS 65, which is the "engine" for Ozi Ex on the laptop.
I sat the whole day waiting for my EGR removal kit to arrive, ah well if not this week hopefully early next week. I did however check if I could get the two manifold bolts out without any drama which thankfully I can.

Due to a part of the fan shroud coming off and entering the fan, the V8 spat the blades out, at least 1 put a small dent in the bonnet and another put a hole in the oil filter. By the time I found somewhere to pull over the oil light had just come on. Had to get the RACQ to take me home and tow the car trailer home too. Thanks to the 2 Disco owners who pulled up to see if they could help. Another good reason to finish off the twin electric fan setup.
Fixed the exhaust manifold leak that's been growing for over a year now, put the roof top tent on, did a dodgy spray job on some headlight protectors and fitted them, even gave the thing a hose off.
