new bearings and seals in the steering box (200tdi defender)
Defender: Attempted to cure leaking rear hubs for the second time. First time I just replaced the rubber caps on end of drive flange. The new caps leaked worse than the old so today I took em off and found the groove into which the caps seal badly corroded!
A wire brush attachment on a dremel cleaned it out somewhat, then filled the caps with grease and lined the grooves with gasket sealant.
I will get some new HD drive flanges at some point but till then I'm hoping no more leaks.
Did more work to the rear carrier, made a table for the side, and started mounting the air comp in the tub,, damn rain,,
Still got a few more little jobs before the Melrose trip,,![]()
replaced 1 bad key with 1 good key.
bought grey leather seats
discovered that the seats have a bolt that goes through to the underside of the car
discovered that my sil fuel tanks are blocking me from getting to that bolt
fixed my 3 amegios
discovered that my tailgate no longer opens![]()
Installed a madman madman din plane in my td5 defender. Pretty nice and not that hard to doAttachment 57948

how usally, what you think will take a couple of hours ened up takeing a couple of weeks. ( with interuptions)
Stuffed the SLS, now it is stuck in transport mode, sitting on its backside, with no idea at all on how to get it back.
Only spent 2 days on it so far...
Off to the dealers tomorrow... and, if i am still grumpy with it, might leave it there for a day or 2 to teach it a lesson...
Go back to coils and it'll solve the other issue.
